Hehee. Before i buy my motard. I am actually looking for used ones. There werent none, you see. After i buy mine, all 4 came out....haiz.....i am vulturing on their accessories actually. Unfortunately they dont want to sell the accessories separately. Lolololol. At least now i can help to expand the motard community. You know...i very lonely on the road la......

 

I'm actually eyeing on Street Fighter S. The nicest and most wocked one on SBF has been sold by geeteethree

 

Then I happen to come upon those 2 very nice Hyper Motard 1100S. But all sold too I'm now thinking of getting the new Z1000 (this one confirm cannot find 2nd hand at this time).

Hi guys! After a VERY long hiatus from riding it time for me to get back on a duc. Been eyeing 2 models in particular: a hyper evo sp or second hand 1098s. I cant consider a HYM1100s used unfortunately because i REALLY REALLY want the higher ride height on the evo sp which IMO does wonders for its stance. Really wish i could find a used 1100 evo sp but i think its way too new.

 

Alternatively the 1098s used sounds really nice too. But its ergonomics and street manners and purpose may not suit me, i dunno. I came from the monster family and was happy with them. The 1098 sportbike riding position, 4v engine, and the fact that it will be used on sg streets 99% of the time make me think i may be getting a little over my head with this bike.

 

Anyone got any advice? Or should i just wait for a 2nd hand 1100 evo sp to turn up. God know when thats gonna happen

Got myself an 08 HM S afew weeks back. Can't stop riding it, just too much fun. Hehe. Very addictive growl

 

I just need to fix up the mirrors on mine, and am considering the open clutch cover. Question: I just need to get the open clutch cover, and the clutch pressure plate and I am good to go, just bolt on? Also, any issues about rain/dust spoiling it? I searched and the consensus is it's not much of an issue, but i'm worried as workplace carpark has no shelter and it's going to be in the rain etc. Thanks guys, any comments appreciated.

just got back from a super hot trip in Msia....

 

Noticed that my coolant lost its cooling properties during traffic jams?

shoots up fast till 108...got once hit 110 degrees... (used to be 104degrees MAX and will drop to 100 when the fans are ON)

checked that fans are ON and blowing...

 

highway riding is fine 85-87degrees....

 

any ideas?

I've got no idea cuz its the original coolant that's stored in the radiator since i got it from 'agent' 2 months back....

 

should i change to a new coolant? erm...must go back to agent for coolant change or?

 

I mean, is it normal for a 1098/1198 models to hit that kind of temp?

I was also a back-to-riding case, didnt dare to plunge straight to a duc superbike but wanted a red duc with fairing as my 1st duc. Found my Supersport 1000DS as the perfect compromise - its full-fairing, easy to ride, not too hardcore, comfy sitting posture, full pillion seat even, but still comes with all the goodies like Termis, slipper clutch, power commander, ohlins rear shocks,etc.

 

But after hanging around with ducati kaki too much, and studying the history of the marque, I began to desire to own the iconic 916 series bike. So I put my beloved SS for sale the moment I realised that one of our blokes is willing to part with his 996SPS....

 

I think you are sold out on the Hyper, but if you want to consider a milder alternative to the 1098S (hey, it still puts out 91 bhp athe the wheel), have a look at the ad below.

If my memories dun fail me, i remembered mine hit highest 106 n d engine auto cut off by itself.

N im using factory coolant. So i always plan my route b4 i go as its no good to get stuck in jams n slow traffic.

They are using Agip coolant. Change to engine ice and it should not overheat at all.
