Oh! Wats rocker arm? Noted on wiring issues.

The rocker is the Lever-like arm between the cam lobe and the stem of the tappet (valve cover). Not sure if the attached .gif will animate,if it doesn't you could do a search from youtube.

some other stuff you could still check also, even if ownership is done deal....

Hi Wilinson, I quote Hansiam, " Loud Pipe Saves Lives, Legal Pipe Saves Money".

Since I was mentioned by you, I will give you an insight of "Arrow" pipes.

I am using the Arrow Dark Line Pipes cuz it match my Stealth perfectly, as though Arrow developed it juz for my Stealth. A lot of misconceptions has been place on Arrow as a misfit for Ducati, and its also the cheapest in the market for pipes that fits my Stealth. I bought alone and paid S$1.8k for the Aluminium Dark Line Series Thunder Pipes slip on with the catalytic converters. Its street legal n comes with LTA approval papers and seals, after your inspection of course. Why aluminium? Its better sounding than titanium pipes, thats what I was informed when I was doing my info gathering before my purchase. I have never been disappointed with my Arrow pipes, its really thunderous. Was commented by Duke owners that the sound does give its competitors a good run for the money. My take is, let the Arrow Pipe speaks for itself. PM me if you want to know more about my pipes and if it can save you money, its good to share the info.

Cheers

Which is probably why most people get akra's, but after having heard both exhausts I just feel arrow sounds better, and the looks have grown on me. but you can't go wrong choosing either.

is the stock really that soft? my stock exhaust is louder compared with termis and baffles installed :)

hi i have a question. must we change the ECU if we change to arrow pipes or other brands? just slip ons. performance wise? is it advisable to fit just PC with stock ECU and aftermarket slip ons?

Posted

3.2k for titanium slipons is crazy ****.. I dont think arrow is overpriced in s'pore.. unless when it comes to Ducs..

Zaimr1 - From wat i know, its better to have a ECU/PC for slip ons but its not neccessary... unless its a full system...

I'm using akra slip-ons on my M696 with the stock ECU. so far so good. :)

I'm not sure if any other Monster owners here encounter the same thing. I'm riding a Monster 696. Anyway, here it goes...

Scenario 1 : I was at the traffic junction waiting for the lights to turn green. Just as i was about to clutch in to engage back to gear 1, the power went off by itself. It was like a 'restart' function. My meter went blank & the engine died. It all happened within a split second. The power came back and my meter light up again. I quickly ignite and move off before the cars behind me start honking...

Scenario 2 : I was on my way to work and was negotiating a bend cruising at 70-80kph. The same thing happened again. It all happened within a split second. The power went off, the meter went off for a moment, the bike jerked forward due to the engine brake. Thankfully my throttle was on, it sort of 'forced' the engine to crank up again within that split second. I saw my meter jumped from 0kph back 70-80kph again.

Scenario 3 : It was during the rainy season back in Dec. I had ended work and ready to head home after the rain. The ride home was smooth until i reached my carpark. I was so 'heng' that i managed to reach my usual bike lot, clutched in wanting to engage neutral. It was then the power went off again and the engine cut off by itself.

This time the power didn't come back. I tried switching on and off several times by turning the key to off/on positions. The meter didn't light up, the headlight didn't light up. However, the 'red light' on our meter is still blinking.

I decided to head back home first, put down my helmet and change out of my slightly damped clothes. I came back down again and try again. Surprisingly, the power came back. My meter lighted up and I was so relieved. With the help of my friends, we checked the fuse box and wires. No signs of burnt markings. I suspect rainwater had enter my keyhole (our keyholes faces the sky), cuz my key got small water droplets on it when i took it out from the keyhole.

Until today, I still can't figure out what's the main cause of it. Any Duc owners here encounter the same thing with electrical glitch? Now I always put on the bike cover whenever i park at work (open air carpark). Hope this may serve as a useful info to everyone here.

Cheers..
