Hey guys, just a question that I wanna understand. Any difference between e stock termis from 97 model 748 and the 2002 model 748r? As understand its 45mm for e 2002 model.... Will there be any difference in flow and so on between these 2 stock termis?

wat u mean by "stock Termis"?? Stock pipes with the engraved Termi logo?

I know Rockoil's 996, Maxbg's 996SPS & Blackreplica's 996SPS have the stock pipes with termi logo engraved. As far as i know, they are still stock, tho they carry the termi logo.

Since termi is kinda taboo topic nowadays, lets talk during Fri kopi. i'll sms u where to meet.

Becareful with this, pipes for the 916/996 do not fit 748 given the same diameter. The angle in which the end cans fit the mid-pipe is different. The is no simple way to get around this. To be sure, make sure that the part numbers of the stock pipes (748) are identical to that of the donor.

Bye Bye Ducati section , well i could not put up with the 848 any longer , its just rolled over 400 km on the clock 250 of which where put on it at Sentul circuit . the handling was good , brakes hmmm ok but the power was down right disappointing didnt have the torque of a twin or the revs of a inline 4 just a nothing motor , so i sold it on tuesday night

i found it fun to ride , but compared to my Track bike in Malaysia KTM RC8R its plain sad , the KTM has twice the power , handling is so sharp it turns better holds a line better and gives a lot better feed back from the tires and the KTM brakes are just awesome

ill be test riding its replacement sat morning a 2011 Aprilia RSV4 Factory at least ill have some power now

so bye bye Ducati section ill be back when i pick up the 1199 :-}}}

then why the 848 in the first place? why not the 1198?

after reading all the claimed specs and feed back from owners it sounds like a great bike , i just did realize how little power they really had .

i think the 1198 would be much the same with out termi's , euc , filter , quick action throttle and gearing changes they just dont work .

i have never ridden on the road in the 31 years iv been riding only even ridden on tracks , i thought it would be a good road / track bike but i was wrong , my mate loves his but he had never ridden anything bigger than a scooter before he got it so to him it seamed powerful .

with all the Ducati hype about racing breed etc etc its very sad they would put something like this out , to keep it as a track bike it would have cost me too much to make it work , they need adjustable ride height link at the rear , different rake and 28 mm offset clamps to get some weight and feed back from the front the rear shock needed replacing and forks needed kitting . Ducati have lost the race bike pedigree and just build pure slow turning low Hp road bikes for the average guy that cant ride a real bike .

i hope they turn that around with the 1199 and bring out something that works

yo

i suppose u 're a frustrated (young?) man.

believe you got a desmoseddicci rr,1 suppose anything after dat 'll be all downhill!

ducati design the 848 as an entry level / affordable to their sports bike ranch .

decent equipment, usable horsepower & even a wet clutch to induct the masses into the ducati family.

sentul circuit, been there before as a spectator, when they 've world superbike there.giving away my age, omg.

its a fast circuit , a tad slower than sepang, dats where the majority of the complain comming from, reckon if u use it @ pasir gudang,it 'll probably feel right @ home.

if u 're going for timing, messing around with suspension , electronics & what 've u.(i had my time too,now more into posing!)u make yr wrong choice !

like the one's u 're comparing RC8R / RSV4 /1199,its not even like for like , do the maths.

& if you 're dicing with the usual 1000 superbike ,dun think u can ask for much.

i 've read your previous posting about your exploit , pretty interesting but dis posting is way out of line.

suggest ,why dun u send a mail down to ducati, bologna, perhaps, juzz perhaps they might hear u out .

our local ducati distributor spend 5 figures sum on the 1st 848evo dat reach our shore , in the malaysian super series & even engage a fast aussie dat race in the isle of man, guess what?

after the weekend qualifying , they didn't even bothered to start the race!

like all the bike u 've mention previously(see above) , they 're all decent bikes but really pales in comparison with the 1198R ?

dun agree , juzz ask *charlie

give the 848 a break , live & let live .

or u reckon, its always the song NOT the singer.

*charlie.carlos checa,world superbike champion 2011,& no less.

The stock pipes with the termi logos are the same as the typical stockers. They are very quiet and very restrictive. Aftermarket termi different story...it's very NICE :)

Shane's - you won't be earning many friends talking down Ducati's on a Ducati Forum, and realistically you being in the trade(?) should know better anyway! We all know the perfect bike is not out there and since road bikes are all about compromise to suit the the widest spectrum of riders and conditions, its down to the rider to pick the best fit for them. Like the old saying Horses for courses! Don't expect the 1199 to be a rip snorting pull your arms out their socket rocket, as for most people that would be a big turn off meaning less sales! And even for the most experienced riders smoother power means faster lap times.

Anyway enjoy your next bike and hope you find something that suits what you are looking for!

dirtydan just telling my experience with the bike , i expected a hell of a lot more . i have ridden a lot of Ducati race bikes and this was the first Ducati i owned and it was a huge let down especially the power .

i search the forums when i was first looking at the 848 , i would hate for some else to get caught like i did , yes they are still an ok bike but thats it they are nothing special for the money you pay .

i am looking at the 1199 now but there is no way i am buying one out of the showroom as i would have to throw half the bike in the bin as i want a track bike , so i am in contact with the team that is building the bikes that will compete in the german superbike championship , ill will have a firm price next week when he get back from italy with the teams first 2 x 1199's , they will supply it as a race bike so i arnt paying for all the road gear and stuff im just going to throw away anyway .

as far as another bike i picked up a 2011 RSV4 factory this morning :-}}} i will be testing it at Sentul tomorrow

All will be forgiven with lots of pictures, and of course.... letting us have a ride on those new beauties.... 😃😃😃 haha

Good luck with the race bike, hope you can work something out
