Simple job to DIY... you just need to know what is the power consumption (not the rated brightness in watts) by the head lights and source for a suitable replacement. Start your search with AMP/Tyco connectors

 

If you're in a hurry to get the bike running you could solder the wires directly thus by passing the need to have connectors. Water would be your worst enemy however route you choose. So make sure your connectors are IP65 (or at least IP55) rated.

 

NEVER turn on any electrical device if you suspect water is present in the connectors/wires. Usually wires will have no problems unless it is being spliced or its old/disintegrated. So it pays big time to check and replace wires, connectors, rubber seals on the ECU etc.

Has anyone had this happend to you before, or is this common.

try topping up coolent and spot for any leakage? is bike still under warranty?
