sunday after 330pm..? hehe

location?

i'm on, have so many questions to ask you guys :)

btw, anyone uses aftermarket clutch slave? does it reduces your clutch pull effort? my fingers feel so tired using the stock clutch, i am thinking of changing to stm clutch slave.

thanks!

are you using it as well? for the clutch slave, do you use 28mm or 30mm? read from ducati.ms forum that 30mm would be harder to engage neutral gear when bike comes to a stop

The problem of clutch not fully disengaging (hence difficult to select neutral) when using a 30mm slave cylinder occurs when used in combination with some stock master cylinders which have too much travel. I can guarantee this problem will not occur with the rcs 16 clutch master (i have this combo on my bike) but if u plan to use the stock master, be careful. If u planning on using the stock master, go with a 28mm slave instead, to be safe

thanks for your advise.

oberon has a 29mm slave cylinder but not sure of its performance

it seems that stm slave cylinder is much popular and receives positive feedback, it is known that it reduces clutch efforts by 25%, very tempting to get it. any where to get it locally?

Sad :( i not in town, join u guys next time

hydn: all slave cylinders of equal stroke will reduce clutch effort by the same amount. Whether STM 28mm or Oberon 28mm, as long as its 28mm. 30mm of course will reduce effort further. Provided your lever wont run out of travel

IMO the only thing that differentiates them is their looks, and reliability. Having said that, the STM that came with my bike is still going strong with no problems. So i guess i'd recommend them.

Why not order the slave online? They're not very large so shipping won't cost a lot.

hi bros... just gotten hold of my M796.... have a few q's that i hope some bros can help with....

1. i feel i'm moving off slow at the lights... what are yr clutch lever clicker at? 2? 3?4? cos i feel i'm revving the trottle up without getting to the biting point fast...

2. at the lights, and if it turns green prior to stopping, do you downshift to gear 1 or to gear two... will i stress the engine much if i downshift all the way to 1, cos at gear 2, it feels like the bike is dying....

3. running in the bike, and i'm shifting gears at 3,500-4,000 rpm... should i shift at higher rpms?

still a noob with ducs.... trying to be a better rider... thanks for any input...!

Congrats!

Clutch lever position is very much personal preference. For me, I like the biting point a little further from the bars. Too close and you will have future future problems with the gearbox especially if you frequent the track.

For (2), it depends on the speed you were at prior to moving off. If it's lugging, you can downshift or slip the clutch.

For (3), there are way too many opinions. Follow the manual recommendations and you'll be fine.

Enjoy the twin. The monster is a fun bike. :)
