Hi, recently i face this problem on my 1098s, when im at track, i downshift before entering a corner. The weird thing is after i down shift, the rev just stays at 4k rpm. As though my slipper clutch wont disengage. After i twist my throttle only then the slipper clutch will disengage. Ive rebleed my clutch recently.

Any inputs guys?

Has it been like this only since the bleeding? If it is then that's your problem, if it isn't, then I think its better if you say exactly what transpired.

What rpm were you at, and how many gears did you drop before you entered the turn? was this at turn 1 or somewhere else?

My valve clearance was done 8000km ago. And the problem arises before i rebleed my clutch. I was going at abt 8krpm wwhen i downed 1 gear, and its rpm was 3.5-4k. Minimal engine break. I have to bleep my throttle for it to show the actual rpm at that speed. Itvhappens in almostvall turns where i have to downshift.

I presume U mean it will not engage. The slipper clutch mechanism disengages the clutch when the wheels turn the engine and engages when the engine turn the wheels.

The slipper clutch is design to disengage when the difference between the engine rpm and wheel rpm exceeds by a certain amount. Ideally the slipper clutch should have no clutch drag, as you close the throttle the rpm falls to idle and the bike freewheels. In real world, the clutch drags and therefore maintains a certain rpm, sufficient to prevent wheel lock while still provide some engine braking.

If u r using the STM evolution (sensitive to clutch pack thickness), the rpm maintained will decrease as the clutch plates wear out. In ur case, since the clutch maintains rpm in the 4k region, ur clutch plate will need to be replaced soon.
