red light camera

hi friends, on the way home just now around 2342hrs, was travelling along loyang ave, towards tampines, at the junction of pasir ris dr 1, while going at a normal speed of approx 50kmh, with traffic light showing green light, i saw a bright flash, or flashes. weird is that it is green light, and how can it trigger the red light camera?

 

could it be a civilian with a good camera taking photos of the night with strong flash? i dont think so le..

 

if the letter comes, i cannot fight for my right unless the photo captures also the traffic light stand.

 

any advise?

u mean when u crossed the line it was still green??

it was green when i crossed the line. flash (hold) then 2 flashes. it was red maybe around 300m before and definite green 150m before i cross the line.

Funny I had a similar thing happen to me a while ago at this same junction.

I was slowing down, almost coming to a stop but proceeded in anticipation for my traffic light to turn from red to green. The other traffic light had turned red. I also saw a couple of flashes when I crossed the intersection. Was wondering whether I could have triggered the camera before my light had turned green or was it be a case of a faulty camera?

 

In any case , is there any difference between beating a red light and beating a green light; not waiting for the lights to turn from red to green?

weird eh. i actually saw twice a lorry and a car, at hougang too. both got the flash while the light is in green.

the sensor is after the stop line. u can see the rectangular shapes..

first arrow to stop line, amber just go. when approachin traffic light just slow down in case it turns to amber, so u got enough time to react. thats what i usually do..

if u see blinking arrow.u noe u canot make it w/o speedin up n cornering like mad/rossi.. den jus slow dwn and stop ...if ppl horn/honk u..let them b..safety first.

no worries mike,i juz recover 12 pts bk frm last yrs record,my trailer kana at amk ave 6.haha.as long when the light bcum red and u r passing tru the stop line u get it other den tat nt to worris.u will c a dam big lightning when u kana even in broad daylight.

hmm...sometimes the camera flash is being described as being "bright as lightning".

I dun know how true is it.

Cos a few week back, I came across this malfunctioning redlight camera which kept flashing nonstop.

It's looks to be me to be more like a strobe light, defintely not as bright as lightning.
