On road repairs is more like BDARs where the real solutions are about quick fixes with available kits. Much tougher and requires more ingenuity than doing repairs in a workshop.

No matter how well prepared and how many tools and spares you carry along with you, nothing can make you feel more secure than the "Plan B" gadgets - a mobile/satellite phone, cash and credit card :thirsty:

A typical senario... siao liao

No problem if you are carrying a small chain breaker, 2 master links, and a short length of chain.

Road side repairs basically means getting the bike roadworthy enough to reach civilisation.

In addition to tools and tire repair kits, you will also need some basic spare parts:

- clutch and brake levers

- gear lever

- clutch cable

- spare fuses

- spare spark plug (especially if riding a thumper)

- quicksteel

- throttle cable

Always carried these while riding trails in Malaysia some years back.
