i did notice some black oil(eo i guess) on the nut dripping a few drop sometime..

what could be the prob? the nut not tighten properly?

 

possibly... try tightening the nut... and before you ride the bike again, check your dipstick and see if you have enough engine oil...

starter motor? now that should cost a bomb not?

 

Not sure of the full name leh. The repair guy just say is starter spoil. Change new one. FOC coz under warranty.

suspension adjustment...u can reduce the preload on the suspension to increase the seat height..

but u will end up with a softer ride..u can try..if the softer suspension is okay..

ie u feel okay with the bike performance then alright...u will end up looosing some stability

when conering...best is to make comparison before and after..

 

if the suspension bottoms up..that may be th reason the preload is set at such..

Height of what, the seat? Dude, 2~3 cm is only like the length of a thumb.... seems negligible to me.

anyone know whether is it possible to jack the height of the phantom heigher? my phantom compare to friend's is much much lower. abt 2-3cm?

 

sometimes like that one... my fren n my phantom put side by side, mine seems obviously taller... but when we sit on each other's bikes, like no difference... :)

got a slight problem..whenever i accelerate or decelerate, i feel like there is some vibration sound from speedometer area and front of the bike..is the vibration normal???thanks...:)

Mr Koh, can I check whether is my suspension loose if I'm bouncing like 3-4 times after going thru a road bump? So far the wheel did not hit the back upper fender, which should be alright right?

your suspension is too soft... there are 5 levels of adjustments for phantom rear suspension... you can try tightening it... of course you can ask ah chong or ah koon to help you with it... :smile:

 

if you are at the hardest setting now... that would mean a big problem here... :giddy:

Big problem like? Need replacement? Think I better bring my to ah chong for help and hopefully dun need replacement. I'd changed so many parts liao :cry:!!!

if it bounces..too soft..

did it bottom out?..it may need hit the fender..u will hear a loud knock..every time it bottoms..test it with a pillion he can feel the impact..

any way the best test is during cornering do you feel the bike is hard to control..if yes to all, time to increase the pre load..

if the pre load is at its max...ie the springs have been compressed to its max..it is time for a replacement..thats going to cost v$$$$$$

 

k, I'm totally like lost already! Er... maybe when try when we meet or maybe let ah chong look at it. So far, no loud knock or crack and pillion din feel any impact and cornering is fine. I'll monitor it again.

on th move no sound?

cld be some parts are loose.

eg, headlight , licence plate etc.

don't think so...checked headlights, IU unit etc...seems like coming from the speedometer/tank area....

also which shop would be better to go in jurong east or bukit batok/panjang area??

the height of the whole vehicle, even the frame is closer to the ground.

 

sometimes like that one... my fren n my phantom put side by side, mine seems obviously taller... but when we sit on each other's bikes, like no difference... :)

my friend sat on mine straight away say mine lower.

 

im ok with bike being lower. but scare might be easier to scrape footpeg when conering.

check th fork & rear shock. tht's th two point tht 'control' th height of th frame..

 

doubt you'r talking bout raised tank..

ahha..probably the chrome thingy holding the speedo not installed properly there's 2 slots the needs to be fit snugly into the tank..try removing it and placing it back..should solve the prob..if you slot it in nicely.. ps. nothing to worry about..but it does get irritating while on the move..
