if it happens when u close throttle or downshift gear??

i would check the chain tension and or chain guide/slider.

maybe your chain tension is slack..and/or chain slider worn out.

Hi, I recently have such problem too. Especially when downshifting gear, there will be some noise from the exhaust pipe. Is it something serious here ? Or is it normal ? Been riding for more than 1 year and first time encounter this.

there is a good chance that the fuel mix is rich...thus a bit back fire..IMHO..

a check of the exhuast pipe end..is it very sooty??ie u can actually scrappe the carbon off the exhaust outlet... run engine at high rpm (stationary mode)and u can see all sorts ofn stuff coming out at the end..if this is the source o the problem a retune to leaner mix may solve the problem.

hmmm... I think you would need to list down the things that you have done / checked...

is there any petrol left in the tank...?

have you checked the bike for any signs of tampering...?

if you need to ride urgently... you might consider getting it towed... and inspected by the doctor...

Usually, its the battery. Are you sure you push start correctly? check if your engine kill switch is on. fuel cork is on. If that doesnt work, maybe go buy a battery or tow to a doctor.

Petrol 3/4 full, EO changed 3 weeks ago & bikes look free of tampering.

Tried push starting for 1 whole hour still cant start.

Anyway, the steps I taken to push start.

How to Push Start a Motorcycle

Push-starting a motorcycle is a useful trick when you have a dead battery or the engine won't turn over. It starts the engine quickly without using the battery by using the momentum of the motorcycle.

Steps

1. Turn the key to the "on" position.

2. Put the bike in neutral.

3. Make sure the engine kill switch is in the on position.

4. Check the fuel valve to make sure that fuel is being supplied to the engine. Basically, just make sure that you've done everything you normally do when starting your bike, but don't hit the ignition switch.

5. Roll your bike down a hill or have a helpful friend give you a push to get moving.

6. Try to hit roughly 10mph (ideally, the faster the better, since you'll have more momentum), pull in the clutch, put the bike into first gear (sometimes second works better, if one doesn't work try the other) and let go of the clutch QUICKLY.

7. The engine will sputter and start. Give it gas, and pull the clutch back in so you don't take off. Stop and hold the clutch in or put it in neutral, and make sure the engine is running well.

8. Once the engine is running smoothly, put it in first gear, and drive your bike to the shop to replace the battery or find out why it was having so much trouble.

I'm guessing is the battery drained already...

- is there light from your headlight (is it dim or normal)?

- what is the sound when you hit the eStart (tick tick, stuttering crank)?

- while push start, is there any crank in the engine?

- is your kill switch loose?

- is your fuel hose line loose?

- is your spark plug loose?

- does your spark plug look burnt?

- is your spark plug igniting at all?

More details can help ascertain the cause of your bike.

There is light from my headlight, signal & brake light. Horn when pressed got no sound.

hitting the estart will produce a 'tick' sound. However, after prolong pressing, the sound will die off. There are some attempts whereby after I pressed the eStart, the engine seems to be starting but the power is not enough.

I have eye-balled all wires, tube etc relating to kill switch, fuel hose & spark plug but nothing seems out of place.

get the bike jump start...if this doesnt work..

check for these

1.got spark or not?? this is difficult if your battery is dead..Thats why jump start to test this too

2. compression..good or not??

3. is your fuel good?? is it stale?? doped??..drain and checked.maybe water or other bad stuff in fuel as in rust..scum and what not..is your carb doing its job??? try removing drain screw to confirm petrol is flowing into carb. as well as any crap u can find in your fuel..

if u are at it check your filter...this could be bad too.

the way u try to start bike ffor a quite some time..the cylinder could be "flooded"...spark plug all wet...

if all good it should start....

note a dying cdi can play all sort o tricks on your bike.

Thanks for the replies, I will try checking.. I'm not too handy with the mechanics of the bike. If I am unable to rectify the problems myself, most probably have to push it to the doctor lei.

Actually trying to avoid this outcome as the nearest mech I can push to is to ah koon. Maybe if can start the engine can at least ride to LAB. Wanna save money :cheeky:

Yep, if visual checks all seems ok, probably CDI or (possibly rectifier) problem. The eStart got "tik" but not even a small crank, usually due to ignition issue.

Got "Tick" sound should be Battery dead.

Got this experience before too.

Can push start, when reached work place, purposely off and start, can start. After work, cannot start, next morning again push start!

Go change your Battery, problem should be gone after that.

sorry noob question here..

as mentioned above for push start,

push your bike 10KMH and First gear in then release clutch.

this will not spoiled the gear box or others?

because last time i tried to push my bike with Gear 1 condition, the bike cannot move...

Gear1 is for superman to push start...as a normal mortal i use gear 3 or 4. Engage to gear 3 or 4,clutch in, then push the bike.

.once u get going at a steady momentum jump onto the bike ..steady yourself and release your clutch..Engine should start to stutter, at this point clutch in and increase throttle until the engine starts to run properly .maybe at this point shift to the appropraite gear and off u go.

u have to have some practice to jump on to bike..if not at lower gear the bike may run off without u.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time:dot:

Hi Guys,

Recently my TA200 started to give me a problem.

It goes like that:

When I was picking up or while cruising, the will be a drawback, as in like pull-back and then goes back normal. I could experience that a few times during my ride. My mechanic thought that it might be the carburetor problem, so he took it out and gave it a good wash. After which he realized that there was a crack line on rubber joint connecting the carburetor to the engine which might be one of the reason why that problem. After changing it, the problem still persist, my mechanic told me that the only thing left now would be the magnetic coil problem.

Any Bros out there experienced this problem before or heard about it?

Please give me some advices.

:)
