maybe after the servicing the mechanic lowered your engine's idling speed...? try increasing your engine's idling speed first... it can be adjusted by turning the long screw at the side of the throttle body facing downwards... if you do not know where is the throttle body, just twist your throttle and observe on the right hand side where you can see some mechanical movement...

hope this helps...

Too many possibilities at the moment... Suggest you monitor if this behaviour is consistent.

- like VidaK mentioned, can be due to overly low idling

- could be the tuning, as washing of carb meant that the tuning have to be re-done.

- could be people play with your bike throttle at night, resulting in difficult start coz of carb flooding, since you mentioned needed about 10 attempts to start the bike

- etc etc etc

use the choke...to start and warm up engine...

check your tank for sediments or water...contaminated petrol makes starting difficult.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time:dot:

when your top speed increase, your acceleration will decrease...

why not just give it a try? although the smaller sprocket might not be so easily found in singapore... you might need to get one at malaysia...

I replaced a new back brake disc and brake pad 2 weeks ago at LAB.

Yesterday after riding,I tried to feel the brake disc, it was much much hotter than the front brake disc.

Tried not to use back brake, also same hot temperature.

Should I go back to the workshop to fix?

I also replaced a new set of chain+sprocket at LAB at the same time.

Since then I hear 'zzzzhhhh...' high-pitch buzzing noise from chain/sprocket part when reaching 40km/h above, everytime I start throttling. When release throttle, very little noise. Tried lubricating chain but doesn't help.

maybe your front brake pad is worn... hence there isn't much temperature...

have you been lubricating your chain and sprockets regularly...? :thirsty:

Went to LAB workshop again last week to ask for help about the sprocket noise, they couldn't rectify it effectively, just lubricated it.

Today went to Planet Motor, ah chong helped to fix it by replacing a new sprocket. When he opened the sprocket cover, he immediately told me that the irritating noise is due to LAB's 'chiong' sprocket (i paid $120 for chain and sprocket) which doesn't have rubber pad at each side of the sprocket. (Sad that he told me the 'gold' chain is chiong one too:cry:) After replacing the sprocket, the sprocket noise problem finally solved:thumb:.

Have, mine is using the smaller SP one for the rear spocket. Go Planet ask for it when you change your chain and spocket together.

So far so good, only 1st gear pickup not as good as before.

smaller rear sprocket only benefits 6th gear's top speed, or 4/5/6 gears all feel like going faster? And save a bit more fuel too?

well... in simplified terms... adjusting sprocket math to decrease acceleration and increasing top speed can be illustrated as: now you have gear 2 3 4 5 6 7 instead of 1 2 3 4 5 6 :cheeky:

Guys, I hope someone here can help me out on this!

I left my bike under my house for 6 weeks as I was going overseas. Then when I came back to try to start the bike, It didn't start.

After a few tries, I manage to electrical start it. I let it idle for awhile before the bike died. Then I checked again and realise that I put the oil intake at OFF. So I turned it to on and tried to start the bike. This time, the bike didn't start. I tried to start it again for like the next 30mins but nothing happen. I heard a "tiak tiak" sound coming from the right side just below the seat area. I need to off the headlights to start the bike as leaving it on will prevent my electric start from working.

And so I gave up on starting and went back home. As I read the forum last night, I realise that the sound means that the battery is very weak and must change it. Now there's a problem, can I start my battery after one night and ride to the bike shop to change it? Or should I attempt to buy the battery and change myself?

Thanks so much!

Hi people

when e bike is left in the carpark only start once a week to warm and den switch off.

One fine day the bike cant start

No tiak tiak sound from the battery

When on, lights and signal lights weak, when crank, the neutral light disappear den when release the light came on again

So isit just the battery died? still able to push start but didnt ride to charge when switch off the bike cant start anymore. What could be the problem?

Thanks

you nd your HID.. LOL.

nono, no captain.. cant live up t tht title.. hahaha.

if i'm not wrong HID and halogen bulbs r different... phantom headlight got a normal bulb right, the tips is rounded n light given out is yellowish... then there's a halogen bulb, the tips is slightly pointed n black in colour, light given out is also yellowish... then there's HID which is something totally different i think, light given out is white...

so far HID not recommended for phantom by some bros due to various reasons...phantoms stock bulbs might b a little dim, but i guess the halogen bulbs r bright enuf... :)

pls correct if im wrong... :)
