Hi guys,

 

I'm buying 2nd hand phantom from my friend, everything looks fine but he told me a problem which he fails to understand what causes it.

 

It goes like this, he tried to step the pedal when approaching traffic light, however it is unresponsive & pedal can go all the way down. The brake is working again when he reached him. He couldn't find any abnormality on the brake/disc whatsoever.

 

I tested the brake, both are working well. I'm kinda puzzled, what could have caused this? Water trap in brake fluid? bubbles?

 

Anyone has similar experience?

get the thing service before somethin happen..please get answer from your mech..

 

the ollowing could be the cause...

jam caliper

insufficient fluid

bad pump..

i love my ezzyoiler

brake pad worn out... my friend had this experience when he was still newbie rider... brake went all the way thru, then after a while, it was ok again... then he went to mechanic, and mech took out a terribly worn out brake pad... even his disc became obviously thinner, reason cause he didnt immediately go to mech, he went to check like after a week... so better ask ur fren to go check it out... might be same as my friend, just brake pad worn out... if dun change fast, then will eat into e disc and that will cost more than brake pads alone...

My friend told me he changed the brake pad 6 months ago, brake pad shouldn't wear out so fast and this is considered his weekend bike also.

 

I just want to ask around first before sending to mechanic, if not he can just ask me change this change that w/o solving the problem..

i would check the disc...if it is not flat or bent...accelerated wear on pad will be the result..

If need, you might wanna take down to ah chong

 

or I take it down to another mech at Aljunied side, opposite Macpherson Primary, its in an Esso station, they do bike repair. I take my bike there when i need repairs... Honest as well, if not broken, won't ask you to change...

Might wanna go weekdays morning, he opens at 9, so best to be first one in... if not it might get crowded during the day, lunch time might not be enough

Hey guys, my phantom mileage abit cock up. Is it possible to travel 400km per day? I ride like half a day i doubt i travel 400km per day.. Only fill up my tank oil once only. (Phantom 150)
