wa lao dont pour the eo into the drain.

if u lazy, at least pour back the old eo into a bottle, then throw the bottle into the rubbish chute.

Lazy? I think its still not an excuse to thow it into the rubbish chute. Just collect your bottles, when you go bike shop, just give to them la! It is really, really toxic to the environment. And i couldnt care less about the environment. But if i care about this, then it must be really serious! :)

How long do you guys wait to change EO after riding for about 15 mins plus? Because i wanna change my own EO but not sure how long to wait. If wait too short, kenna burned. If wait to long, become thick again. Thanks!

Whats wrong with draining a thick eo? I personally do it when cold.

Btw a ybr? 10w40 is the common grading. 20w50 couldnt possibly damage your bike. Possibly air cooled as well ya?

Btw, i dont know if its just me but the gears get easier to shift after 1k of traveling after the oil change.

Just a preference bro. With 20W-50 i find it less easy to start up my bike in the cold mornings. Take a longer time to warm up also. With 10w-40, better, faster but when engine hot not so smooth.

Doesn't hot EO flow much better compared to when its cold?

It might be the quality. 10w40 is supposed to start better than 20w50 based on GRADING ALONE. Everything gets drained in the end.. if faster.. yeah perhaps when its hot or warm.

But wouldn't hot or cold EO flow out anyway?

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

when u bath u want little bits of droplets on water dropping on u or u want running water?

Life is not the amount of breath u take, but the moments that take ur breath away.

It is not how hard you fall, its how fast you get up.

When engine hot is not so smooth because of your viscosity. Typically 20W50,15W50 or 10w50 runs better in air cooled engines than 10W40. 10W40 is usually for liquid-cooled engines typically. Gear clearance in air cool engine is usually larger than liquid cool engines.

In the end it's up to individual preference cause it's your ride.

motul 5000 15w40 is pretty good too. the viscosity doesnt really apply for SG's case only that if you ride really hard maybe the oil will get a lil too hot for optimal performance. other wise it depends entirely on the manufacturer on how much lubricating properties the oil has. better to change after a certain mileage, depending on your bike, as the accumulated carbon and stuff makes the engine a lil rough

Upgraded progressively from mineral only (Castrol + Motul), Motul semi and now Chex 9000 synthetic 10W40

The lighter synthetic oil warms up much faster, gives better cold start protection and runs significantly quieter than the roaring Castrol and Motul.

The lighter the oil, the faster the flow rate when cold and that matters for startup protection.

I didn't like Motul 15W50 semi as half of it liked to evaporate away after 2 weeks.

Bro, the Chex 9000 now is 10W40 is it? No more 10w50 is it?

At the website it states 10W50?

I use Motul Transoil Expert SAE 10w40 for my krr.. So far so good, no prob at all, shifting gears & high rev.. Been using it for 2yrs in a row now.. Hv tried Amsoil 20w50 bt frm my feeling, tis transoil is more awesome.. Unlike the Motul 300V (sucks) .. Tats wat the manuals requires actuali.. Transmission oil, 0.7L when oil is drain. 0.87L if oil is completely dry.Diy is great bt dun forget to dump it to ur nearest bike shop.. :)

Looks like this tread is sparse = sg bike owners prefer to let the shop do-it-for-them

Doing everything DIY that I can now.. Judging by the way things are rite now , it is for the best..

Makes you stronger and less dependent on bike shops.

Encourage others to do likewise and help new riders identify fair deals online~ thus making direct seller to buyer purchases.

Its the only way we can push the motorcycle industry in Singapore forward.
