blood donation thread becomes movie watching thread... lol

 

The blood bank aspheris centre has tv consoles at the beds to help the donars pass time.

 

Somehow, due to wear and tear, those consoles now only broadcast 1 movie. Last time, at least 3 movies plus TV channels to watch.

Also, because some of us are so regular at the blood bank.

 

I learnt to always bring in some magazines onto the beds, just to read, distract myself against the fright of the needles going into my veins. At least the glossy pictures of beautiful people on the magazines is better to look at, then at the grim faces of folks donating blood or the nurses trying to find the veins.

 

Unfortunately, even the blood bank has limited reading magazines materials, and its all at the reception area.

 

For those who ever tried reading a story book while donating blood, should understand how difficult to hold a book open while one arm is spread out and engage in pumping blood out. Magazines are easier.

i wasn't afraid of the needle... cause they put the alcohol thingy then they poke mah. then no pain.

Always ride safely and defensively.

For two weeks running, I rush down to the blood bank after work on Saturday, to donate Aspherisis.

 

And they couldnt take me on.

 

1st Sat, I reached at 3.30pm. They say they already cannot take on donars.

 

2nd Sat, I reached before 3pm. They say the last appointment is at 3pm, so cannot take me walk in.

 

So how? I rush down again today. They have enough nurses and beds to handle blood donars?

 

Why didnt the staff at the Aspherisis Counter redirect donars that cannot donate Aspherisis to the Blood Donation instead? Why? Because she was busy sms-sing her friends for some other activities after she gets off work.

Its the end of the year, when folks are all preparing for their year end or for the new year.

 

Do drop by the blood bank as and when you can, best if you can make appointments first, to help stock up the blood needed during the festive periods.

Just went for blood donation last Saturday at Hougang, everything was fine except that the location a bit hard to find. :)

I did recieved SMS from the blood bank when O+ blood supplies are low. I think they will send out SMS to the specific type of blood donors when that particular blood type are low on supplies.

The blood bank is always in need of more blood. Especially now that the festive season is nearing they will try to collect more blood in anticipation of increased needs.

You can go for aspherisis donation at HSA, u can donate every month if I'm not wrong. Can help those leukemia patients.

I had the Nasi Lemak at Blood Bank! The staff there put the whole big packet of Nasi Lemak to warm up in the microwave first and it was delicious!

 

They even give you a extra small bowl of Red Bean soup!
