Oei..

Anyways, I learnt that phrase from the Priory of G4... wahh mystic.. :p

Moving on!! Moving on!!,

Regarding Pt 2, did you purposely set the idling high to prevent the bike from stalling? Or to test some other thing out? I would like to be able to distinguish between the plugs but sadly, even if they were Apples and Oranges, they would all look like Apples to me. Theory knowledge is worth nothing when there's no appropriate practical knowledge. Sigh.. and yes, that sentence is meant as a jab at myself lah.

Answering Pt. 2, yeap I did dat to prevent unwanted stallings. For my bike, when the RPM is fluctuating, never drop it below 1K. Cos it fluctuates within 1K range so logically gotta set it above 1 lah. At most also will drop to slightly lesser than 1K mah. Strange, but normally my bikes (which include my old WR2) will ONLY stall when I am at a busy traffic junction and the light just turn green. Nbz!!!.. :sian: Theory knowledge is worth nothing when there's no practical knowledge is so true. But speech is futile without action. You have the bike, you have proper hands, you have the tips from us, why not get down and dirty and grab that practical knowledge now? *blurr*, :btw: you're still ok. My friend that time, give him apple and orange, he kept saying it's mangosteen!!! In native japanese language, we call that "ve-ri do ka-ni-na-be!". Si beh kim jio ah!

And Pt 3.. talk about gan cheong man. Imagine just on that fateful few days back, I was stranded along the road shoulder of the expressway with no wallet, no handphone, nothing. Penniless, needing to pee urgently, stuck in the middle of practically nowhere, bike down. But it was quite an experience! Hahaha..

That's real bad, especially more so that you're a lady rider. Dangerous. Never ever leave home without a handphone. No money nevermind, at least can call for help. But try to beat my situation back then. Stranded along the dark stretch of NSH, alone, with no phone reception and only 30 sing dollars and sweating like a cow.

PS. actually, I thought there was some kinda hidden meaning in Pt 1 maaaaan. HAHAHA.. (think along the crooked path. x.x)

Dudette, you have something throbbing whilst you're straddling it everyday. What could be more crooked than this?

cheers!

Hi mate.

It's gonna be impossible to tell you a place where they've many G4s around. It's an old bike. Many bikeshop owners will shriek when they see one (and I don't meant it in a positive tone btw).

You are better off buying from a private buyer. The one's from shop are grossly overpriced.

What I would do (I ain't an expert so don't quote me on this, please) is to really check if your four plugs are indeed firing. I had this problem whereby two of my plug cables aren't the conventional copper ones but fibrous instead (so called racing cables, that's a sham). Plug our the cable from the plug cable head and place it near ur body frame, start ur bike and see if there are sparks.

Alternatively, your carburettor is not properly balanced. Time for servicing it.

I purposely set the idling above 1K when my bike went haywire. Yeah, when all's good, u should set it between 0.5-0.7K rpm. But definitely not when ur idling is running crazily. When u are stopping at traffic light, it'll go below 0.25 and subsequently shuts off when the light turns green...

and that's where the fun starts of being gan cheong and such..

i met this prob before...it only happen when in raining days...cos the plug caps are worn...and water keep entering the plug slots. Well as said by Naz the pro..it either plugs wet or carb unbalance.

400SP with the adjustable rear suspension ?

Last I was close to this bike was few months back when someone wanna sell it.

But remember, it's quite ancient. Need lotsa lotsa buildup. Even the other later models are pretty much phased out already. If that's the case, why not create an ad in garage sale?

Good luck.

Saul Hudson

If u r into SP models den i suggest u save up more...cos some SP models spare parts are more "unique". They do no follow the normal productions. So its kinda difficult to find in the market...and the price is more...for example the CDI. So if u r really into it...make sure u have a very gd market survey 1st.

Hello, I am in Japan right now, does anyone know which aftermarket pipe will fit our bikes? I have tried the major manufacturers and they do not list our bikes in any language I understand :p. I don't want to have to cut my mid pipe if it can be avoided, is there someone that supplies the mid pipe with a slip on? Either way any info would be great. Mine is a 95.

Also, if anyone knows where I could get the single seat cover (not the whole single seat tail unit from the U.k) If you can help it would be greatly appreciated.
