My answers are :

- As long as you service your bike regularly and maintain it, it shouldn't give you much problems. However, have to ensure that the bike you bought is in good condition in the first place cos this bike model very old already.

- I've got no major problems when I was riding my GSX400R. Rode that bike for 7 years. For my GSX R400N, electrical wiring problem, rectifier and coil problems. Carburettor no problems cos I send it for servicing every 6 months.

- Pick up good. Top speed on GSX R400N was 200km/h on the highway home from Genting at highest gear 3/4 throttle. Could go faster but didn't dare cos road was sandy. Top speed on GSX 400R was 180km/h at Singapore roads.

- My previous GSX R400R can travel about 280km/h on full tank.

Ya, ya. My mistake. Every time talk about speed until everytime got km only I add /hour as well. Should be 280 km on full tank... :thumb:

Hi all, ill be passing my 2a soon and am deciding between a gsx 400 or cbr 400,

If i decide to take the gxr, any old birds here who can check parts for me mind coming with me to the bike shop to view bike?

I treat u to coffee or something :p

Things done so far:

Brand new rear suspension, new rubbers in carbs, serviced carbs, double bubble windscreen, voltmeter, Pilot Sport tyres, Did o ring + VAZ sprokets, front brake pump, gaskets + waterpump oil seal, Maxima CoolAid, 2nd hand rear hugger, 2nd hand front brake disc, Fizz Power brake pads front and back, 2nd hand front and back rims, Yusa battery, Reconditioned 2nd hand carbs by Planet, Front sticker number plate, front wheel bearings, new clutch plates, fortuna paintwork sponsored by spastic driver, Keitin tank pad.

 

Need sugar mommy for : Hel brake lines and top end overhaul.

i would say that work out your budget....if you have a healthy budget, you can do up a gsx and make it good and lasting.. i find cbr too expensive fopr my choice....for the kind of price, i could have got a 600cc or even a R1 ...
