Hrmm... Pros out here. Need some help. I'm quite confuse on wat bike to get. But come across this topic. So might as well ask u guess. Mayb i know wats the diff between CBR400 and GSX 400??

the heatsink is attached to the rectifier (converts the AC to DC current). Seems like your rectifier may be fried. if you unscrew the rectifier from the frame and look on the underside, you may see that it has melted.

 

yup true what donutboy said, if the rectifier is there and has melted, u need the rectifier to charge ur batt...so that's why i think ur batt goes flat out bro.

 

probably need to change new rectifier and batt liao.

Hi guys. Got my decade-and-a-half year old GSX400R earlier. Needs some servicing.

 

1. Cone Bearing

2. Rear Suspension

3. Key Switches (Ignition, Fuel cap + helmet/seat lock). Key worn out like mad. And ignition switch you can remove the key after starting the bike. O.o

4. Moulding of head fairing and new bubble required.

5. Basic mantainance. EO change and radiator flush and so on.

6. LHS switches need replacement. That and i need a new choke cable.

 

going to go down to Planet Motor next week. I verily doubt that its going to be a quick affair, repairing the bike. Could any veterans kindly estimate how much i will have to pay... and how long they will take to repair? Cant wait to play with my new/old toy.

eh ... any idea if u found out your bike can only ride till 140 and can't go up any more ? unless u kick down your gear ?? Hmm ?? any idea ??

Strange, i had the impression that excess goes into the coolant res tank.....

 

All i know is that the Bike has 2 Coolant Storage plc. The Main & Res. The Main is located underneath the Tank & it is basically the one tat does the Job of Liquid Cooling the Bike. In due course the Coolant Level runs out 2 a certain level there will b a suction action, which is where the Res Tank comes in play. Basically the Res Tank will help 2 Top Up the Main 2 a designated Level. So for normal servicing U can just Top Ur ur Res Tank. followed by a Coolant Flush when U tink the Time iz Ripe...

hmmm mus drag every gear de ah ? i didn't koe coz mainly i jus drag my 4th and 5th .. 5th till over 8-9 rpm .. change gear ... i guess .. still hard to drag .. maybe i try it tml sorry to ask stupid question coz i dun have the habit of dragging my lower gears

cause higher gear is for cruising mah.. dont have the pull power like lower gears.. try not to drag gear 1.. gear 2 to 5 rev to jus red zone den upshift fast to keep ur rpm above 12k.. sure to hit 180 - 200..

No lah actually Drag does nt mean really till REdZone or so. Some ppl juz have the habit 2 change gears like Scramblerz' Style. The Faster the better. If tats the Case then confirm by the 6th Gear No Power liao mah 2 go High Speed. It really depends a lot on the Rider & Riding Style

Ok i have been contacted to round up all the 250s , 400s and 650 vtwins for the malaysian super series in sepang. As motomillia is no longer going to sponsor for the aprilia cup for 250s. A 250 racer in KL was nominated to hold the class himself. Now i need those who raced or intend to race this year in the class to step up and make this event a success. We need 20 participatants in total(malaysian and singaporeans) to make it happen. think it doesnt matter cf or not....as long as u using illegal pipes, u will ride in fear in s'pore...that's my imho.
