M1 wears out fast?could be due cold shredding, sportec M1 arent meant for 400s.

stock buns for gix4 should be 120/160, but u can try 120/150(and its cheaper!!), makes a real big difference. u can feel *wow*, immediately after changing.

realli? hmmm.......gonna consider that.....

Thanx

tell me about it, can never understand wats the rational behind that

you see, many wish to change the tyre for: Balding, Lousy (ex. IRC tyres), Old.

Then they slapped on models like pirelli dragons or gpr70 which offers excellent grip and mount it on their rear wheels. After trying out, their feel would be "ITS GREAT! STICKING ON DARN WELL!"

True, of coz. Thats becoz they comparing to their previous lousy/dead/stale ones. But i think a reputable street tyre with the correct sizing and fit, will offer on par quality, if not better quality.

Once saw an Ah Beng riding SP with a Metzeler ME1 (supposedly front) as his rear, and the funny thing is, it's wider than SP's stock rear and it's not exactly "fully" pumped or doesn't fit in well... it's flat... duh

hi all,

jus wanna ask if Sportec M1 comes with a H rated version?

Used the MEZ1 before and I quite like the stability so if the M1 is suitable for my 400cc then that's my next choice of tyres

I use MZ4 i think , very good in wet condition. coming MZ6, review say is 20% better than mZ4 in wet condition

1) Gpr 70, they were on the road for sometime and best price is dropping :thumb: due to other manufacturers released their versions (i.e. Dragons, BT90's etc...) both Dunlop sports and touring versions seemed to fall behind very quickly, market believe the Dragon and MEZ1 both surpass the Dunlop performance, specifically on the CBR400, VFR400 and the RS250.

2) Bt010, worst of all using after 8 -9000km centre/side wave start coming out. :goodluck: if keep using....

3) Metzeler Sportec, my feedback the tyre is good on Dry/wet weather and cold performance. :cheer:

4) Pirelli Diablo, Best of the best :clapping: anyway for yr info just in case you didn't know, Pirelli bought Metzeler over 10 years ago but both manufacturers produce independant tyre ranges the compounds and general materials cross between the brands.

Drop the idea of BT56, they are old models aand should be more then 3 year old on the shelve

tires have only a shelve life of 2 yrs

I dun really like BT010 coz the front is very prone to cupping...for your style of riding, i would recommend BT012SS still....

hehe...think for this time, i gonna keep my bt012 front n get a fresh bt010 rear. the front profile still healthy n i b anticipating a long trip this yr end...thus my choice of changing the rear only....

funnie, i still see BT56 on bridgestone's webby

http://mc.bridgestone.co.jp/en/products/ca...ory/onroad.html

n the last time i had a pair of bt012ss, it only lasted 1 track session n 4mths... :pity:

n yes...i do check my pressure religiously... :D

improper suspension set up does accelerate tire wear. theres too many factors invovle, cant pin point any

okie dokz...

sianz...hw i wish bikelab or sporting offers some form of instalment plans for shocks...i was wondering, if a $600++ Hit-Air jacket can do it, why not a $1.5k++ shock?

then you will have to ask yourself this question, if today you are running a shop selling shocks which cost one grand plus....some walk in customer make a purchase and wants to pay by instalment

Will u do it?

:?

i believe the Hit-air instalment thingy is done by a finance company. If my memory din fail mi, it was hitachi credit that did the financing for the distributor of Hit-Air. The distributor gets paid in full by the finance company when the buyers purchase the jacket. The repayment of the loan taken is den only bet. the finance company n the buyer...as all loans alike, u got to find a gurrantor for applying...

If this could be applied in the market for shocks, sporting n bikelab could see a huge jump in sales of their products, benefiting nt only their accounts, but more importantly bikers get to haf their fav aftermarket shocks installed in their beloved machines...win-win situation...

but of cos, i'm nt sure hw things can be worked out in practice, it may only be wishful thinking on my part... :D

now thats a very valuable input....think we can feedback to them, perhaps we can work something out that benefits everyone....do u happens to have anymore leads?

i think if they r willing to consider this option, the next logical step to take wud be to get them to find out more details from Hitachi Credit or other finance companies willing to take on this business....

hmmm...if they reallie embark on this plan, tell dem they haf a ready cbr929 customer... :D

erm....issit setting up of suspension involved in adjusting the clickers and preload? Or running down to a suspension shop and getting shocks and fork whic are magically-without-a-need-to-adjust make your bike better in conering?

That sounds about right... coz I don't expect sports tyres to last more than 10,000km anyway (rear).

It's strange coz BT-010s are very highly rated in the UK. I'm currently happy with ME-Z1s but they're are a tad pricey despite their age (mid 90s design)! So I'm seriously thinking about giving BT-010s a go.

I'm quoted $420 for MEZ1 for my CBR919. I tink its front 130/16", rear 180/17"

Is the price ok? It include digital wheel balancing.

Is this tyre lasting? I dont need super sticky tyre. Just want something tat can last me for some decent mileage.

never tried Z3. my cbr6 is now fitted with Z1. complement from shop. :p

Z1 supposed to to be the old technology race tire. so i supposed

Z3 would hv a slight edge over it. btw, mayb due to the tire not fully run-in, it (Z1) slide a little during cornering in wet weather....
