Hi,

I was told recently by one of the bike shop that installing a touring tyre like BT020 or BT021 on a light superbike like K5,K6,K7, ZX-10R will make the bike "drift" on high speed (due to not much grip as the bike are very very light and the tires are very very hard compound).

They told me that these BT021 and BT020 are best used on heavy weight touring bikes like hayabusa,ZX14 etc etc because the heavy weight of the bike will make the BT020 or BT021 as a comfortable tyre/grip.

They recomend BT015 or BT014 (for those whom need Bridgestones) for those "super light" super bikes which mentioned above as the super light weight of the bilkes will ride more comfort/grip only on soft or medium tyres.

How far this is true?

Anyone experience this?

Tks

Recently my friend had installed the 021, in fact the compound is as soft as my sport attack. It performed on track as well, he took corners with great confidence. Any touring tires of present day is as good as sport tires 5 years ago.

Are Bridgestone BT-015s available already?

I wanted to change to BT-021s, but were out of stock, so I went for Avon Viper Sports instead.

Don't mind me asking, how do you know that the compound is as soft as your Continentals?

No offence.

Then how u determined hard compound?

On the track by touching the tires when heated up, u will feel it sticky. The level of stickiness and the amount of shearing u can determine the tire's stickiness.

Have u even wonder why race tires shear more rubber cos they are softer and even time it shear it would expose new rubber to grip the road. Correct mi if i was wrong.

Good mileage and good grip are oxymorons.

If you don't go track, then try Dunlop GT501 arrowmax. All the grip you need on the street, lasts forever.

Please change Vee rubber away IMMEDIATELY. They have no traction AT ALL on the wet.

Base on my personal experience on a scale of 10, I rate TT900 and BT39 @ 8 in terms of value, base on Grip, mileage and Prices

Vee Rubber and Pirelli City Demon probably score 3 or 4.
