Been away from the local bike scene for a while too...

Michelin Pilot Power

120 front and 150 rear.... how much for the set?

Probably the best tyre for the DRZ400SM.

$320 including installation and balancing.

Michelin Pilot Road 2 is a decent tires...Its wear quite well and is a blessing in the rain...

After 10000km on my friend's GSX 4 its still looked it had 70% more to go...

Well depending on bike's power and torque, the wear rate might be different...

I need recommendation for a pair of tires. Planning to change but I've heard of few and I'm unsure about which to choose.

I'm riding a RVF . So can someone please help me out with this. Thanks in advance.

I heard that Metzeler's Sportec M3 is good set of tires . Also , Pirelli's Super Corsa Diablo. and I'm a fan of Bridgestone's Battlax tires as that was what I used on my 2b bike (Bt 39 for front wheel and Bt 090 - 110/70) . But I'm unsure of which battlax version to use on a 2a.

So out of this 3 tires , which do u think is good? Oh and of course , if there is some other recommendation , please do let me know and it would be good if you can tell me an estimation of its cost.

Thanks again peepz :)

Dunlop Qualifier, had a new set of them. Even after heavy downpour, there's noticeable signs of sands still sticking on them after the tires have dried up.:cheeky:

There's no Diablo Corsa for 2A if my memory serves me right..

Get a pair of Michelin PP..Good enough for daily usage and occasional track..

Ok basically I ride a RVF . My riding type , well I've only been on track once but I intend to learn on track riding . At the same time , this bike is also being mainly used for my transportation . And what I seek for is real good grips for low corners . So basically main priority is for low corners grips followed by good grip when raining ( i'm abit safety rider , so i go slow on rainy days so guess it shall not be a top of priority ) and yeah also for me to learn track and that would be my 3rd priority .

As Dan Zi said , I've heard alot of good things about alpha 10. and MC28 yes , there is Super Corsa for 2a. My friend has that set on his RVF. Yeah i believe that Michellin PP is most suited for me as u mentioned it is good for daily usage and ocasional track usage , but just want to know how reliable it is when it comes to gripping when we go low on corners or on a rainy day? and just to confirm , what is the exact name for Michellin PP ?

So guys which tires you would recommend for my type of usage?

Thanks again for the time taken ,

Cheers.

michelin pilot power

fyi one of ma fren buang at pg on his 954, the other guy is my friends buddy also on pp2ct buang at pg.

last month ma fren buang at mersing during rainy weather on his pilot power 2ct. but he is a fast rider btw.

Super Corsa meant more for dry weather due to its tire groove, it does its work to channel the water but not as gd as road tires. corsa 3 is a gd choice since ur occasional track riding. anyway track tires needs to warm up longer then normal tires before u can negotiate a "low corner" and they have certain number of heat cycle.

Fro 400cc is better to used those H rated tires...Like H rated alpha 10 and Bt090...BTW BT090 are used in 400cc races in Zhuhai and Taiwan..

Tires needed heat to grip...And heat are generated by accelerating and braking...The rear torque of the tires that spin up the rear...To maintain grip heat are needed...

H rated....cheaper....lighter less unsprung weight and heat up faster...

Sadly to say...400cc just dont have the torque to heat w/z rated tires to optimum temp...

But most buy them anyway...Cos they are used on track and racing by bigger bikes...Pay more for less I would say....

I had used W rated tires on my Super 4...M1...last mi almost a year with lots of thread left....10000km or so( commute miles )....but same tires on my R6....6000km almost 70% lo ( Commute/touring and track miles )....On my friend's R1 ( commute/tour and track miles )....6000km bye bye......

You just cant have the best of both worlds...I also wish my R6 can sip fuel like my Sonic...
