 1st time I heard this...

thanks for the answer...Another question, do you know if Diablo or Bt010 or Metzeler come in different sizes..say 150 or 160 or 170?

I suggest u stick to 120 60/17 front and 150 60/17 rear

BT020 comes in 160 60/17

1st its Z rated, which means they are meant for 600cc and above

then it have a stiffer carcass, u need a softer carcass for your machine so tat it get warm up pretty quickly....

Z rated tires usually weights more then H rated tires. With increase unsprung weight, your power to weight ratio will not be healthy, u need longer braking distance, less fuel economy, and the added weight will make the suspension work harder to cope

Choice of tires depends on how u ride the machine...

U have a few choices, stick to H rated tires....

thk alot...so wat tires is gd for 400cc CBR??? H rated tires r which type???

Devil May Cry!!!

Rider May ........!~!!!!!

H rated tires:

Pirelli Dragon MTR01/02

Dunlop GPR70SP

Bridgestone BT090

Metzeler MEZ-1 (watch out for ME-1, they are crap)

My favourite is GPR70SP, havent use it for the last 2 yrs till last week, fresh set of 70SP, and it still rocks..woohooo :bounce:

May i know how much u pay for the tires  think of getting one for myself too

Tires u have to check out with those shops tat ya fimiliar with, its a known fact that u get cheap tires from either LAB or HKL, if u want a good pair of hands to handle those tire change, then u might have to pay a tad more if u visit those respectable shops.

Price wise i cant advise coz i'm not dealing in this trade...

:btw: i paid 240 bucks for a pair of GPR70SP ;)

Where u change ur tires?

Life short, play hard

You will be sorry when you see me.

Speed is not how fast you can go,

But how fast you can handle.

Ppl always think they\'re good but

It\'s others tat judge them not themselve.

Not forgetting the ever sticky Michelin Pilot Sports or Race... :D

My rims are with the Pilot Sports and no regrets.

Your rear rim is 4" wide (i assume ya riding a Bandit)

HEnce, i only recommed 140 60/17 or 150 60/17

Sad to say, BT010 do not cater to those sizes.

If u look at the Pirelli website, they do come in 150 profile, but i doubt u can get them in the near future, on top of tat, for now, they only come in the form of Z rated.

I highly recommed H rated tires for your bike....

What tire do you recommend for a bandit 400?

Wat kinda ride do u go for, mileage, or do u like a little fun in the twisties?

the H rated tires i mention in the above mail suits your bike as well, but of a different tire profile, since ya bike is using 3" wide rims for front and 4" wide rims for rear...u have to use 110 70/17 for the front and 140 60/17 or 150 60/17. but if ya the tourer type who like comfort(away from harsh rides) u can try 140 70/17 rear.

Thanks..any tire brand recommendations?...another question..I'm using

battlax for my rear tire and the size is 160/60/17..it feels ok..but any

disadvantages in doing this?..

Like i mention before, tire size is determines by the kinda rim u use.

Though u can PINCH a 160 profile tire into a 4" wide rim, thinking that " i have a bigger tire and thus a bigger contact patch". However the sad TRUTH is that, the tire profile is so badly deformed that. U have a lesser contact patch when u lean the bike in a corner as compare to that of a 140 profile. :p

I DARE baet with u that u probably have 1" CHICKEN STRIP on each side of the tires, and this is not due to your riding ablity, but rather its due to the deformed shape of the tire.

I have to say this again, for your machine, 140 60/17 is the way to go. nothing else. ;)

thanks a lot :p ...but you mentioned size 150 60/17 before...Is it ok

to use this?

and you lost the bet...I got 1/2" chicken strip only....

Oh, i almost forget, theres so many disadvantageous, Weight increase alone can have so many other implication, bad fuel economy, longer braking distance and increase in unsprung weight are juz a few to list...

thanks a lot again...that's why I want to change my tires

already...just need some answers from you.. :p

thanks again....

140 60/17 profile is not common in singapore, hence u might find difficulties finding them, can try LAB tho, 150 60/17 is next on the list.

Dammit......mum told me time and time again not to place bet....reckon she's rigth after all

As the saying goes, moms are always right :p

hope you dont mind me asking again but If you buy at LAB, do

you trust them on changing the tires for you or you go somewhere

esle?..and do you know of any a goodplace that aligns tires for motorcycles?

well, if u want it to be done at a bargain, u can opt for HKL, tho they often screw things up, but comes to tire change, it should be their forte, i juz got mine change recently, decent workmanship, plus dynamic balancing....

BUT please do check your tire pressure after that.....i'm not sure if thier guage need to recalibrate or their eyes are play tricks

thanks alot.. ;)

I've not come across them in Sg. In Europe they are kinda like budget but decent tires.
