what has premix gotta do with engine braking??

remember not to pour too much 2t, results is disastrous, especially when you're coming back to singapore from johor in the day, NEA's watching you closely.

Other than that and the hassle of bringing a bottle around, i guess its pretty good to premix, no 2t pump break down problems, no leakages, control how much 2T you desire and what more?

I personally did premix my NSR150SP with Motul 710.

Great response. No worries about damaged 2T pumps.

Once you've tried premixing, you wont go back to 2T pump.

Its a virus! :D

Have a look at this thread for more info on premixing 2 strokes.

it might be because of the over addition of 2t to your tank.... when i was using my SP the preferred mix ratio is 1 litre - 25-28ml ...... i dont know about the rest.... anyway im using motul 800....:thumb: just my 0.000000002cents

1 litre of gasoline to 25-28ml of 2T seems alot to me...unless you are racing your bike.

I am riding a KTM 200 EXC and I was using a premix ratio of 1litre : 20ml for normal road riding and there was alot of white smoke and excess 2T dripping from the exhaust tip.

I have since leaned-out my Premix to 1litre : 10ml-12ml and feel engine more responsive and alot less smoke from the exhaust....+ I do not smell of 2T oil after every ride!!!

Did you remove ur 2T pump? :cheeky:

Or you ran both on Pump and premix?

For my sp, i used 20Ml / Litre of petrol.

25ml was too rich for me. I cut down to 20ml, it was great. Using Motul 710.

I believe using 20Ml/litre is fine as we are using ester based oil and not using for pure racing. Just a little trottle happy.

yeah, my old bike was modded and i tried the 20ml per litre mixture before, but i jus thought that i wanted to protect my piston tats why the additional 5-8 ml of 2t.... yeah heard for racing bikes it can even go up to 35ml/l.... racing bikes which means play tray etc...:thumb:

You shld have removed ur 2T pump. :faint:

If you're a performance kind of person and just love the feel of 2 strokers, once you've tried premix, you would never turn back! :thumb:

I got hooked on it. Its a virus! :D
