you will see 3 sets of lights just above your meters..

1 x blue

1 x red

1 x orange..

if you are within the required speed, it will blink..

above 40kmh, it will stay ON.

just make it blink and you are safe.

yeahh that orange light.

Hey cookiesandcream! Argh, I fell off the plank. So back to Lesson 5 on Monday. And I was the only girl there so the instructor told me to skip the pillion riding and just do it next time. :dozed:

Anyone doing Lesson 5 on Mon at the 2pm-ish slot?

Oh ya, abt the orange light... My instructor at Lesson 5 said not to base it on that, better to look at the speedometer. Cuz there was this one guy last year who kept speeding and waiting for the light... Turns out the light was broken and he was going at abt 40km/h. And he skidded and fell and broke his arm in 3 places *eeek!* :faint:

Omg! Poor guy :faint:

The orange light is just for reference though, don't depend on it 100%.. like certain times you look at the meter and it reads 30km/hr, you thought you are maintaining your speed but maybe due some reasons you are actually slowing down prior to reaching the white line, you can glimpse at the orange light to see if you are really at the appropriate speed already.

Well, some people don't even need to look at the orange light at all.

But remember not to look at the meter too long, we're supposed to look far ahead :p

Plank is my weak point also! It's not the matter of maintaining balance on the plank for me, it's the going up the plank at the appropriate speed! :sian:

When I go up the plank swee, I can happily balance and get the timing. When I go up like sh*t, too slow or too fast, that's when I always fall off the plank. And my 1 immediate failure is always at plank. Need practice! Lots of it! and money also. haha!

Good luck for your Lesson5 ! For pillion riding, don't worry too much. I worried about it too last time but it was actually fun. I was laughing all the way with my newly found friend who had to pillion me. She also kept stalling at slope and we couldn't get the bike to start, even though she kicked start many times. In the end, I got down and she pushed the bike up the slope. LOL!

Where got forever? Persevere! Haha. For turning, signal, check blindspot, turn. Thats it. Example : You know the zebra crossing infront of the canteen after that is a left turn? You on your signal after that crossing, check left blindspot about 1 car length away before turning then you turn.

For lane changing what i do is : Let's say im changing lane to the right. So i signal right, check right blind spot move towards the line inbetween the lanes, check right blindspot quickly then move to the middle of that lane. So its like a gradual angle. Thats what works for me.

cookiesandcream: Same for me la! I know that once I'm up on the plank, I'm more or less ok... But that time, I got on and I think I was too slow and I started wobbling and in my mind I was like, ok, I'm not gonna make it! And then, I fell off. And I couldn't open throttle either cuz my front wheel wasn't straight at the time. Oh well.

Thanks for the encouragement for the pillion riding! My bf, who's a rider, said that so long as I don't stop and keep on moving while I'm doing the courses, I should be ok. I'm just dead scared of hurting someone else through my mistakes!

Ok ladies, anyone has a favourite bike to use? I don't like #19 cuz the plastic on the indicator switch is missing and it hurt my thumb every time I had to signal. #28 is my baby!

i tend to just rem those nt to take.. haha.. #33 ... clutch is turned way up, so its kinda weird for a newbie like me..

Yeah! I realised that too! Last time used to have cones at places where you're supposed to check blindspots. haha! but now i realised the spot where there were cones, still have indicators la.. example is after pedestrian crossing, before you do a left turn to go to fig8.. the exact patch where the cone used to be is bald! hahahaha!

d3stiny, I don't really stick to certain bikes coz alot of my friends advised me against it, coz during TP test you won't be able to choose your bike so I'd prefer to just pick any bike, do the pre-ride check and just ensure the bike is working properly.. but I do try to avoid those bikes with smaller numbers coz in my experience, these bikes are old and their brakes most of the time cannot make it! lol.

Infinity, what bike you planning to ride after you get your lic? For me I only set my eyes on a KR. the rest I don't want. hahaha.

if you really getting kr, let me advise you to prepare more than $900 for insurance cos insurance price of kr is high up in the price list due to it being involved in many accidents.

thanks to KR, all kawasaki bike insurance price higher than honda, yamaha, ducati, etc, they are arranged according to a matrix score the insurance companies use to classify the different brand of bikes.

anyway, nice to see the ladies at cdc so active in forum.

perhaps i'll be going for my class 2 at cdc when im eligible.

for now, it's getting my 2A 1st!

Class 2B - 26/03/2009

Class 2A - 01/06/2010

Class 3 - 10/07/2009

Rides(s)

1) Honda TA150 - 20/04/2009 to 31/08/2014

2) Honda CB400 Ver S - 12/07/2014 to ???

ahcaibiker, yeah I'm actually prepared to set aside at least 1.3k just for insurance alone. lol! Thanks for the input! :D

Shadowluva, diff ppl diff taste mahhh. haha. What to do~ cannot psycho myself to get other bikes. lol. but I don't think I'll be upgrading.. No plans for that. You planning to upgrade lic in future?
