Anyone encounter gear lever stuck?

I was riding(high gear) in car park and i'm coming to a stop. So i down shift, step step step step(more then enough to make it 1st gear). But it stuck on the 2nd gear. So i give a dinosaur step, still stay on 2nd gear. I continue to step until it went to 1st gear, sometimes went to neutral. Happens on up-shifting too. Why?

I step not hard enough?

I pull in clutch too tight?

Something wrong with the bike?

Or only me?

You got "pump" your clutch?

In other words, keep pulling and realeasing your clutch until you reach your desired gear.

Or can be your clutch/plates/gear system not alinged properly due to bunaged bike or fall.

When You Fully Press Your Clutch Then Cannot Kick Down, Release It Abit Then Kick Down Again. If Still Cannot Then Move Bike Slightly Infront & Kick Down Again. If Still Cannot, Buy Honda Wave. No Clutch! Hehehehe.

Sometimes it's because your hydraulic clutch fluid reservoir is low or insufficient, resulting in the clutch being unable to disengage properly. If this is the case, it costs less than $10 to rectify as it just means topping up the fluid.

Often this is characterised by far less effort required to pull in the clutch lever as compared to the past. Also, the clutch will normally engage rather close to the grip(ie. you only need to release a bit to engage half-clutch)

Oh.

i release the clutch abit when i step down or kick up, it works! Maybe it can't engage/disengage properly. Thank you peeps.:cheeky:

Dude. Didn't they teach you this at your driving school? I was just wondering...

Yea my friend riding shadow encountered a lot of this problem too.

Just throttle a bit more steady then kick the gear up again, sometimes he has to kick harder though.

Thanks for the advice, I had this same problem too.

For something, I thought my bike need some repairing.

Will try it the next time it happens on the road (:

When you press the brake, do you hear the gear shift release mechanism click? If not, it is not releasing. There is a manual release. There should be a small opening near the shift lever. It has a cover on it that can be removed with a small screwdriver. Open that cover, put a small screwdriver into it and press downward. That might release the lever.

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....

My friend rode SP, he had this problem before and the mech said it was because of misalignment, like sth happen to the position of the gear lever. Go check it out :)
