Malaysian Automatic Clearence System (MACS)

News is out that for those who frequent entering Malaysia they can apply for MACS.. Have anyone here apply for it? For $30rm a year. The website http://www.mini.gov.my. The thing reference is out but i cant find the application form.. can anyone help me out..

Went to apply, but that officer say i not from sg so cannot. But when i email them they say ok =.= .

Anyway, the office is just after the Msia Custom counter. After you finish chopping , turn out and you will see a small bridge and a few office on right beside it. Park your bike near the counter and walk up (:

Fyi. The MACS application center at JB CIQ (and perhaps also at Tuas ) is closed. You now have to go to the Third Link offoce in SINGAPORE at Orchard Parade Hotel. 1 Tanglin Road. # 03-11 to apply.

This place merely is a middle-man entity that takes facilitates the application for $35 - $15 (vs RM30 at the CIQ formerly) for application and $20 for their trouble. It will take 2 days to be done versus 30 minutes at the CIQ.

You must bring a passport photo too even if you are renewing your MACS.

 

Prepare for at least an hour wait for your turn to be processed.

like MANY of their bird brained ideas, i think the worse was the fingers printing at their checkpoint. i dont know what they were thinking. i am sure to rent the place at Orchard Hotel is so damn ex. Why couldnt they do at the embassy.?

So they can work in comfort, enjoy Orchard Road amenities. Applicants are paying for them to live it up, why not? As with all things officially M'sian, kopi lui. Lol. Middleman probably some govt official's ka kia, or ka ki lang.

lot of confusion and complains by customers there as expected. some customers made a waste trip as they do not have what they need.

 

especially for Singaporeans staying in Malaysia who complain how to they leave their passport overnight if they need to go home. for them to get at the same day, they have to arrive early at 0930 hrs and provide proof that they are staying in Malaysia like tenant agreement etc to get their passport back at the same day.

 

back moving the operation to Malaysia, it a step back ward.

the price doesnt really make sense... one page can squeeze 3 or 4 chops. so confirm can last more than one year.
