One of the popular bike shop told me the facelift version will arrived next year after Chinese New Year. He advised me not to wait for it, price had been all time low, just buy!. Furthermore, the rear LED tail light is actually already available at ?motoworld, can install on any current STX.

Hi sparks..:) Me didn't go for the big bike fest as I got something else on that day..:p

My ride is ok so far but have discovered some bad news after I sent my bike to my trusted mechanic...Was told my beast ever involved in accident before..but I'm not very much concerned as long it doesn't pose too much a problem for me now...so far the bike is good...just replaced 2 screws in the header coz was told the screws are broken and causing the metal vibrating sound which I detected since I collected my bike..Quite disappointed with the bike shop which I bought from but what to do...I dun expect much from them anyway...

How about you? Anything to share?

PS. I'm looking forward to the monthly mass meet or DIY session after Hari Raya...Hope we hear from Simon soon...This thread has been quite lately...:)

Hi, me also just got an ST. After riding it for about 170km on the first day, got sore back and arms and lots of sweat. Still trying to get use to it after upgrading from a scooter.

By the way, the handle bar seems a bit far for me(my stomach leaning on the air filter cover) and I can't push the bike while on it as only my toes are touching the ground. Can any kind souls point me to the right direction to rectify the above problems I'm facing?(by the way, I've only read till page 26 and am still trying:giddy: )

Thanks

just to add....another reason

the pavement fronting the food court is wide enough for 2 rows of bike and pedestrian walking.

try increase handle bar height - handle bar riser

try reduce the bike seat height.

Thanks for the info. Just manage to read all the threads.

I know about the bar riser but not too sure about the seat height, just go to 219 or similar shop and ask them to cut. Do we need to tell them where to cut or they already know how to trim the seat?

So can I join you all for your monthly meet?:shy:

Cheers

Hi brothers,

Few questions.

1) Is your hondaline rear box the original accessories for STX1300 as in the website below?

http://www.honda.co.uk/motorcycles/en/jsp/accessories.html

If it is, kindly let me know whether its available in Singapore, including the arm rest and the additional LED lights.

2) Main Headlight, when on, is it one side or both?

3) Can the front signal light be modified to remain on like a riding/position light? (easily done for st11 but not sure abt stx13)

4) how to identify Boon siew STX (besides the boonsiew sticker/emblem) ie any different in specs?

Thanks.

Hi guys,

Need help from experienced fellow riders here...

You know the engine vent hole inside the air filter area..

When my bike's temp goes up(about 1/3 mark on the temp gauge)...engine oil will start coming out thru the ventilation hole ... its coming out bit by bit but bad enough to soak my air filter(there's actually a small pool of engine oil on the air filter tray)...and leaks right down to the side stand...

Have any of you guys faced tis problem before ??...

I tot it could be due to excess engine oil but after rectifying, its still does not help..

BTW, currently using K&N air filter, iridium plug and fully synthetic engine oil...

Please help me....

Nope it does not available in S'pore but you alway can order online.

4) how to identify Boon siew STX (besides the boonsiew sticker/emblem) ie any different in specs? You can give a call to them to check with chassis no. and engine no

Thanks.

Bumpz,

1st, did u over top ur engine oil during ur last servicing..? it shouldnt more than 3.7ltr(approximately 3btl & slightly more than 1/2 on the 4th btl of 1ltr btl each), 3.5-3.7ltr will be good. over top-up could result into it.

another possibilty could be the oil that u apply onto ur K&N air filter soaking out, did u overly apply it..?

this is what u could do to check;

- have ur bike properly main stand parked overnite, dont start ur bike & see thru the oil level glass for oil level, it should be slightly below 'H' or in between 'H' & 'L' mark.

if u cant see anything except a screen glass of engine oil perhaps u could try to release some oil thru the oil filter by gently unscrewing it to allow flow outs, to refill it u need to tighten it & start bike to rev to fill up the oil filter. each filled oil filter is approxiamtely 100ml,, last servicing if u use up 4btl u should repeat this method for about 3-4 times, after u got it done u MUST replace a new oil filter. check oil level again the next day or after at least few hours.

it should help.

sparks,

Thanks for your msg. I sure am confident the beaST's built to last.

Simon,

I took your advice and drained out some engine oil. Now when engine is cool, it about 2/3 filled between to "H" and "L" mark.

I am gonna monitor it for about a week and see how it goes ( keeping my fingers crossed !)

Btw, I weigh about 58 kgs, can you advice the recommended tyre pressure, for both Singapore riding and long distance touring ??

(I tried friend's advice :Front-36, Rear-42 Psi but its seems rather "bouncy", or is it suppose to be like this ?? )

P.S.: thanks guys for the concern and advice....you guys rock !!:thumb:
