Actually you are the 3rd owner, from bike shop to 1st owner also count as 1 transfer.

Technically u are right about the transfer... u will be 5th Owner

with 4th Transfer....

But ... must check if the Transfer is to Bike Shop... or owner to owner...

and how long each to have used the bike...

some of the reasons is because of Ang moh leaving and have to transfer into the Bike Shop... many reasons lah....

Honda Engine... is also known for Low maintainence and durablity...

as long as the engine not with Funny knocking sound like breaking apart

then still quite ok... to play safe.get the expert to check it out with u lor

Shaft driven bike is a big diff. from chain driven bike..... chain driven u can ride at high speed at 6th then drop all the way to 2nd or 3th to slow down or in a corner, the most chain spolit change it only cost 1 or 2 hundreds.... for shaft driven if shaft oil leak change seal (cheap) but labour X may be cheaper than chain but if the whole shaft give away hummm.... $1k+, if lucky only the rear gear mesh think cost around $300 to $500.... and it very diff to check for the problem or condition on shaft as not much ppl have/encounter this problem.....

hi cool79,

cornering on ST11 is really a challanging task, don expect it to response like a sportbike. it weights 100kg++ then most sportbike, long wheel base, higher handle bar. with all the condition are u confident enough to play cornering on ST11!

another issue is fyi each side box cost about $1000 dollar, so think twice....

Anyway ST11 are not build to cut thru tight corner, so think twice if u r getting ST....!

For past 13yrs, ST1100 had been in production till it stop at 2002. ST1100 is able to stay in market for so long because of its relibility. ST1100 had been use in many parts of europe till today. their paramedic, their TP still use ST1100.

ST11 shaft system had been been there since its production in 1989, till now no much complain had been heard. so don worry tat shaft give u problem.

there are so much ST rider in the world, i am sure we r not the onli people who will wack ST11 and put it to a test. they can wack more then any of us here. they don experience any issue, y should we worry....?

btw chain and shaft system each have their own advantage.

Shaft system is so much heavier than a chain system, but it provide minimum maintenaes....!

As a tourer machine, with touring purpose, shaft system is the right stuff.

things u can look out, is the final drive area where the gear transmitt power to the wheel. it is area with alot of wear and tear but not easy to access....btw it also take a long time to wear out.....

alot of old bird here had don know wack ST11 how many times for past 10 yr, they don face any problem, we don need to worry. ST11 had been proven by time.

Don listen to people, see it for urself. u wan? one thur i can bring u down for a full understanding of ST11 structure. PM me lo...!

i am using dragon GTS, it has very good gribs and provide good handling. another good point of these tire is also good at wet road. just the milage is low compare to others. front tire is about 16 to 18k, rear 18-20k....! my usage.....! another is the price of it....$420 for a pair....!

i chose these because the style and pattern of my riding.....! so i choose GTS..!

once u use GTS almost all people will stick to it...! heeee....

Z4 is good, high milage, good gribs. but kinda of scary during wet road, the tire square off easily...! (base on wat i have seen).

ST11 and CBR400....have equal feel of power?

i don think so...! maybe pick up cbr have more advantage. anyway these two are diff bike, no way to compare....!

ST1100 have a flat power cruve, it give out power in a gentle way but it is strong.

actually from wat u wan from a bike, FJR seems to fit u better...why don u try also find info of tat bike. then later u can compare both ST11 and FJR.

cheers!

There are some reason why the fairing is design in such way :

1. Prevent theft.

2. Less tendency of loose fairing.

After few times of practise, you will find actually not so hard to remove the fairing for service.

BTW, how often you need to change timing belt and coolant ?

Timing belt --> every 80,000-120,000 km

Coolant --> Every 2 years.

Change engine oil + filter :

1. Right maintain fairing (2 screws)

2. Oil filter - lower fairing (11 screws)
