Dude...all the answers to your questions are in this thread closely...

 

so,if you want to get the answer,it will be different altogether from different riders...

 

1.Speed : concerning that you love speed,all trailies are not really meant for speed.the TDM is more like a hybrid between trailie and a sportsbike.Its parrallel twin engine is unique...it has the torque and grunt of a trailie and a smooth sportsbike engine feel.For me,the fastest i ever gone with fully loaded sidecases,pillion,shorter shield,205km/hr...some friends able to get 220km/hr

 

2.I've tried V-stroms on few occasion.never tried the varas.IMO,the TDM has lesser vibbs compares to all..but different rider may give different views.Again i stress,the TDM is a hybrid..it shares 2 character of a V-twin and a Inline4.

 

3.Accessories..well..there are plenty..every bikes have their own accessories...if you are hardworking enough to browse the web,you easily can score yourself looking at a good looking TDM.the europians have alot of info on this.The TDM is already widespread with its reliability and accesories compared to when its 3yrs back.Try not to compare bikes with the GS.every bike has its own character.i hope you wont try to add the GS beak...it will just kill the originality of the bike.whats so great about GS anyways?if you want your bike to look like one,mite as well buy a GS.I'm sorry if i am being harsh.

 

4.Its ok to cruise the bike between 150-180km/hr...but i think if you constantly do a 190 and above for a very long distance,yeah...every bikes have their limitation...just like humans..

Ask simply80chup who converts from FZ1 to TDM...

I think most of us here are happy with our bikes...same thing if you go to other forum on varas,vstrom...they are all happy with their bikes too...

 

So,the decision in choosing a bike is up to the rider itself on what are the needs in it.

You seem to give a very detailed info, I like. And I am not trying to compare or trying to make it look like GS or whatever bike. I know every bike have their own characteristics. But I am just taking those as examples only. I just like to know more about the bike as like I said, I have been riding road bikes and have never own a traillies. And so that was why I come out with the questions above.

haha...this bugger own a Harley and skipper1000cc...tried Takehow's TDM,now he just bought 1.Simply80chup sold his FZ1 and step want to rilek becoz getting married,riding his father's X8,tried my TDM,1mth later...he also bought one...who's next to be in?

Yeah :offtopic: bro.. mileage just pass 90k :giddy: Owning since early 2006 til now, hav not changed any of u mentioned, but got symptom she's askin for new batt redi.. :sian: Yeah, layout is de same, but for electrical stuff, it's very different; (except batt) also dpend on additonal lights n etc on bikes. In short, cannot compare lar; even same make, model n yr.. :angel:

Yo, carbs are on TDM850 only, TDM 900 only hav FI wan :angel: Urs is carb, rite? Yeah, we did some DIY on our rides, but even TDM900 to TDM 900, i also dun buy de idea comparing as such, of coz it's good for reference for advance preventive maintainance. Btw, if u keen on our DIY, do feel free to click bck few pages, u shd be able to find.
