I didnt buy much becos the rest of my cash i would like to keep.

so will do some switches.

most importantly is that my passive imcome continues.

end of this month i have a USD200k bond maturing, which i will look to reinvest.

i wouldnt mind investing in a physical business either but cant find anything suitable

i dont even dare to check.. haha..

but its all part of the investment cycle..

Now that I understood this kinda of cycle is those which wipes out life saving :cry:

Got the shares after election, then came the Haze, dropped $3k in 20 days!!

Iphone 6 launched, Singtel rebounded but DBS still stuck underground, one-up but another down still make $800,

after admin left only $400.

It is more of a personal emotional roller coaster rather than investement hahaha

since we are on the topic of business here...

not sure how many here are entreprenuers/biz owners/wannabe...

i have been asked to invest a 6-figure in a clinic-like facility for dialysis in indonesia by a friend.

they want to scale up the biz and looking for investors.

what would be your top 3 burning questions to ask?

who forms the customer base (recurring versus non recurring)

financials over last three years (debt to equity, cash flows, net profit after tax)

go down and see for yourself (physical state of equipment, staff etc)

Looks like a ghost town here.

hang in there.

The rough ride is not over.

2015 was completely flat for me.

i gave back every cent i made from the markets

Could have bought so many Ducatis, Harleys and Triumphs

Disappointed but definitely not beaten.

Chin up and go again.

Stay liquid enough to get in.

Biggest losers the next few years will be those holding extra properties.

be forewarned.

good luck all

thanks for the fore warning! haha..

my sentiments exactly, i think this is just the beginning for 2016..

care to explain what you mean by those holding extra ptty? you mean, like how they are going to be paying for it? since the rates are heading north?

any thoughts about overseas ppty? ie vietnam/cambodia.

they seem to have attractive entry price compared to sgp , and upside potential is quite significant..

If you cant pay foryour mortgage, its game over.

i am not even talking about that

Everything is about opportunity cost.

return on equity on properties is 2%pa

if you holdmore than whatyou need, then you will suffer lowervaluation thus being stuck in an assrt which doesnot produce enough returns.

Moreoevr there is no liquidity for properties

any seller now must take a 10% hit .

i dont have the appettite for overseas properties

i dont understand the factors behind so i dont touch

St Engineering is my top pick this year. Longer term price target is $4.

i hold about 40,000 shares of this stock at an average of $2.93 now.

my strategy is to go in 10,000 again at $2.60 and 10,000 every 10% drop thereafter to accumulate another 50,000 shares

this is a solid long term hold for me as i take in dividends of about 4%++

Will accumulate up to $250k of this stock.

should give me $11k-12k of dividends pa.

thats $1k a month, enough to cover my cigars expenses.

yeah

This week lost another $50k from my portfolio value.....

sigh....

but thats the market, up and down

gotta stay invested in the right names fundamentally.

Thankfully, i sold my investment property at peak in 2013

and am completely debt free.
