Yeah.. It's possible. They just have to tilt the bike at a more steeper angle than normal so the EO collects to the side when they change the clutch plates.

If moving off, you need to rev higher than normal (by hearing and feel) in order to move off, then you should probably change your clutch plates. Why not you change the plates first, then see whether it has any positive effect on your ride?

shall seek ur advise. thanks for the infor. ur avatar , cute baby.

Hi Dkoh, if the radiator circlip is loose, one of the best signs is steam coming out from the front of your bike. I loosened it once to accommodate my header replacement and didn't fix it properly. Everytime I started my bike, steam would come out without fail due to the coolant evaporating.

If hose is cracked, surely the coolant won't come out on and off, but rather in a constant flow. Maybe you could just let your bike run stationary until it is very hot (30mins?), then once the pressure builds up, maybe you could pinpont exactly where the coolant is coming out from?

Not necessarily..once the coolant gets hot and pressure builds up..it oozes out and depending on the crack size and pressure and temperature..it can jet out on and off.

Checked my bike today... with the help from joajas, wat he told me was the circlip of the water hose under my fuel tank loose causing leakage when pressure was build up when i throttle... Think it was connected to the coolant return pipe from the left side of the engine.

He tighten the circlip for me and so far had yet to see any coolant spliting yet.

Also checked the radiator cap and the coolant too... cap was like a new one but the coolant was very contaminated. Will be doing flushing this saturday.

Finally many thanks to Joajas, Ah Pek and all the rest that actually share the info with me.:thumb:

If he has tested your bike and from the symptom he described, yes..its definitely the clutch plate. I know each clutch plate cost $11.00 and thre are 6 pieces..your price may include eo and labour. Snce you just changed eo...may be you can asked the mech to save it for resue and see if he gives you a better pricing.

new version s rider here..i bought it in pretty bad condition..

but managed to restore it..

after engine oil change, carb wash and tune, spark plugs change, coolant flush, knn air filter, coil, rectifier and battery, the bike is running well...almost

when i am heading out of the traffic light, bike will want to surge forward, but there is like a lack of power..until about 3 secs later, the power will come in...

the power is there but there is a lag of 5-10 s...not smooth..

its difficult to describe here..so i was asking will there be any meet ups?

when there's a WHEEL...

there's a way...

Do you know the condition of your sporket set and chain and how is the tension slack like? what is your idling setting like..below 1K rpm? What about clutch adjustment setting...did the mech do it for you?

No problem man, just hope that the diagnosis is correct. Do monitor that area and make sure no leakage.

Try riding hard for a few days after coolant flush and monitor for any leakage.

From where??? Haha. Don't like me.. EO come out from the small hole, thot gasket blown. Skarli is the mech never tighten my spark plugs properly, causing the EO to flow out.

i'm gona wash my bike tmr mrng..

it'll b easier to trace then i guess?

look for new streams of oil leak..

ermm.. fr nw i can say it's frm the block area..

nt sure exactly where yet..

went to a bike shop in tamp..

straight away ask me change new block..

the mech didnt even wanna confirm where the leakage is from.. -_-"

erm. i am afraid the mech tok me. he told me change clutch plate does not need to change EO.?? possible?

yes is possible .. they will drain out ur previous EO 1st b4 doing the replacement after that u pour back the old EO but is better to change to new EO as since ur Clutch plate has worn out, meanin there might have fiction between ur plate n the metal hence will hav small pieces of metal residue in ur EO .. and when u change clutch plate normally the cost break down is :

Clutch plate

EO

Gasket housing ( the small pieces of duno rubber or thick paper to prevent leakage)

nthing more then tis for basic clutch plate change unless ur clutch housing is dmg after long usage of worn clutch plate ..

:cheer: Good choice amd smart move bro! Block not so easily cracked one lah especially if you never have coolant problem. If coolant system is working as per normal and block can cracked..msut be your neighbour sobo you...LOL! The most mid engine gasket blown that's all. What mototiam is that huh?..hint hint can already lah.

ah pek sudden surge forward can be cau by sudden hard throttle rite ?

Let say we leave out clutch for this matter.

It is only so if your idling speed is at at least 1.2krpm or 1.3 rpm in opersting temperature...and the sudden twist of the throttle would give you that "wanna chiong liao" effect and of course has to be in gear.

In most cases not because most rider readjust their idling speed to below 1K..say like 800 or even 500k rpm..there will be a "lag period" and takes a bit of half clutching before the proper bite to transmission rolls comes in.

if you haven't notice..BY RIGHT, the manufacturer recommended specification for idling speed at operating temperature of the S4 bike is 1250 to 1350 +/- 100 rpm. It's all about maintaing the correct Venturi process design for the bike. Your start/stop/go is more pleasant but what to do..we typical stereo type rider want to idle as low as possible for seng_yiu mah...yet in cold morning and overnite parting..we expect 'steady idling'..LOL!

The newer bikes all with auto choke that runs from 35 to 45 seconds at 1.4k rpm or so leave the rider no choice..so to help us to stop complaining that my bike cannot idle...LOL!..smart! Take what I say with a pinch of salt...as always :D
