eiy bro. i saw the blue coral before. it's kinda thick like honey right? the thing is, is it put in petrol or EO?

STP oil treatment inside EO.. the one in can that is.. nt sure which one he is referring to..

blue coral not sure, hv yet to see it..

Yeah. It's thick. And it's OIL treatment, not petrol bro.

Yes STP Oil treatment is inside the blue can. Increases the viscosity of the carlube I used.

Ah Pek, the Blue Coral Petrol Injection Treatment damn shiok leh. The difference can be felt immediately. Was at JB Shell putting it in, then this old Malay guy on his ST11 came to me and asked where I bought it, cos he has been looking for it. He also had positive feedback about it. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

yesterday was travelling at CTE. was changing lanes to mid lane when this version s cut me up dangerously and sped off. gave him a chase and cut him back dangerously. next moment, he was beside me, with pillion, and he lift open his visor. was an old uncle! he smiled and asked politely if he wanna have a drag. i agreed and what the hell! he blast his bike with the pillion and heck, i was waaaayyy back! he gaves a good thumbs up and exit at ang mo kio.

lesson learn: old people are crazy but heck! got experience mah. can whack kids like me anyhow when he was the one who started it. c'mon. there's a better place to ask for a race though.

Sorry to say bro but the fact that you both go for it at singapore road and risk people's lives ..makes you both idiots for the day. In the end of the day, nobody goes home with a trophy, not even a cent of gratitude from each other.. Bro, please dun cultivate this behaviour.. There's enuf road accidents nowadays.

Btw, any bros here making their way to the Big Bike Fest tmr?

Oh yah..Burnout69 is correct. It all eletrical problem. Have these this check first..

1) Your starter switch..it may be dirty..spray a little WD40 into the area and press it in and out a few time.

2) If this does not help, go to your fuse housing and check your main 30A fuse.

3) If ok..follow the stater switch cable and check if there is continunity or bad wire socket come loose. Take note too that on your left, there are two small blade connector type on your left clutch end (just below it)..if any on the connector comes loose..can cause starting problem too. yes..its a clutch safety switch and somehow can affect if your side stand safety switch is not working normal too.

4) Lastly and hope not..your starter coil (the cylinder round think below your carbs) could be faulty...that's why Norishimu asked if your starter "cranks".

If it does not, liely its faulty but not totally out of comission...need not to change the whole unit..internal part replacement and compressed air cleaning can clear problem most of the time. You may want to take a heavy wood and knock or tap hard on it to loosen the dusty carbon dust inside...this usually causes contact problem.

You did not say how old your bike is..but if its less than 3 months or so..what I say of item 3 and 4 is not valid.

could be starter relay .. n it may eats into the battery's power

Oh yes...Mr Quan correct..he got this "sticky relay" problem. best is to buy the relaya nd have it replace..since your Dad ia a DIY man..the relay I think is just next to the fuse assembly vicinity.

Forgot...one STP can is great to blend with 5 litre of car eo. If yours is 4 litre can car eo, use 3/4 of the can. Too thick tends to give too high pressure in gear box on high rpm riding..retard your performance instead.

Oh.. Btw Stp is the orangy colour bottle one ah? Can find at mustafa right? How much roughly for a bottle? Are there different types of STP? And forgot to ask something regarding the engine maintainance which is the Oil filter. How long do i need to change it? And is it possible for me to change it myself? Oh ya 1 last thing, shud i try this FP60? The feedback from a couple of ppl was quite good. Dunno whether it really works; have u tried it personally? If yes, how was it u find? So sorry to pop so many questions at one time :cheeky:

There is no FIXED rule as when you must change your eo or oil filter. If you ride hard and often..change often then..if you ride gentle and short distance run..you can clock all the way from 5K to 10K. If you ride long distance and normal, usually its about 5k on Singapore road condition. Experience ppl usually go by "feel". You know it when the eo feels watery and thin..this is when the feel of things gets rugh in the gear box. I do that way...so, no such thing as how many K or for how long. Racer and hard rider change every 3k. With X-1R and you go further and thrash your engine..its safe. Its the time that the engine is protected whe you whack the bike.

No..the STP is in a hard paper cylinder 'can' comes in blue. Please read the label when you are buying. The orange bottle one is for fuel treatment for boosting "Octane"..and red..I think is for fuel jet cleansing.

Oil filter..yes, can diy but have the right tools please.

Btw...can you clip and paste this as a post to the non-vtec trhread so other ppl can share it too?..thanks.

I lazy to sort it out so i just paste the whole chunk of our conversation lol. Ah Pek very zai wor!

I try to have a different relationship with the bike. I don't give it a name, but I always speak with it. I don't know if the other riders do the same. This is not only a piece of metal - there is a soul. The bike talks back too. But not with a voice, with the components" - Valentino Rossi

Ho Ho.... Just got my bike grounding done...

A perfect job done by Ah Pek... And here's the feedback,

1) Better response while throttling... (ah pek, when i test my bike i discovered that the 0.5sec lag when i throttle is gone)... Is it because the point from the spark plug coil area?

2) Brighter light, let me explain how i discover the brighter lighting from my bike. I wear a helmet with tinted visor... in the pass when i ride on the bike at night with my visor down. I won't be able to see the meter (light too dim)... Today after doing grounding i went back and have dinner... then when out to test bike liao.... when riding i suddenly discover, how come i can see the meter running with wat speed with the visor down (surprise). So i am sure that the lighting had improved much from the pass.

So far discovered this two differences... will update again if got new findings.

BTW... i give a two thumbs up (as i only have two) for the way u arrange the wire (si beh swee) and thank you for sharing your bike knowledge...

heh...x2! DKoh!...great news from you and am happy taht there is good result. See if any improvement in FC...grounding does not really contribute that but partially helps when it comes to good combustion with better sparking..may be a few litre more...LOL!
