The rear subframe shld be the same so it's probably plug and play. I know tt some owners changed the 1st gen shorter tailboards to the sharper ver s ones cos it's nicer.

Hi, I'm new here and currently residing in Philippines.....I ride superfour version S(CB400K) and the thing is, the model come without fuel gauge. I assume it was used as police bike in japan(big rectifier and so many ports for extra light/horn and electronic gizmos. is there anybody can guide me for installing the fuel gauge? thanks.

Hi guys.. I've got a major problem..

Long story, i'll keep it brief. I have this ticking sound even after my engine was rebuilt. It is definitely not valve or cam chain.

Mech says need to change engine block, which cost $350 for second hand. Is there any shop or mech you guys can recommend to go to get this checked?

A trustworthy mech/motortiam to open up the engine and look into the problem and still cost decent.

I've spent a lot already. I really don't know what to do bros...

Thanks in advance.

Ok...long answer short...looks like you kenna carrot liao. Firstly..the ticking sound is from valve clearance caused by shim/shims. It's ok to leave it if the sound goes away after hot and you r uing right eo viscosity. If now still got the ticking..means nothing been done.

Secondly..a 2nd block in NEVER at $350..it's at least $800-$1200 to replace and no warranty..that's what I understand in the open market now. If there is ticking sound, it's still ur shim/shims as these are the component creating the sound. Tell ur mech if the block can make ticking sound..likely ISIS has put a time bomb inside :p

So..you think anything been done? :nono:

Any shop you recommend to do valve clearance and shim replacement then?

Try Planet Motor (an advertiser here)..asked them to evaluate what's is wrong rather than you tell then what is wrong.

When do we need to do valve clearance? Should it be "if it is working, don't break it"? What about engine overhaul and carb cleaning / tuning? Thanks
