Try to find out who will be the judge, then before the court meeting, meet him beforehand and give him under table "services". Should be able to lower the punishment a little bit

Your Head Lah! Hahaha. Well To TS, Why Not Talk To Your Boss & Get Your Boss To Write A Letter Then At Least It Really Proves U Had Something Urgent At Work To Rush To. Then Do Something For Him In Return If It Works?

i was caught on PIE traveling at 142 km/hr on a 90 km speed limit.

the TP book me told me i will get 18 demerit points + fine + go court.

what i wana knw is what will fine amount be like?

Hi Gilbert, I was in your spot 9 years ago but there was no Singaporebikes.com during those days. No where to seek consultation. Almost exactly the same offence and condition. I was travelling at 145km/h on a 90km/h speed limit road. Caught by a roving TP and issued with a notice of intended prosecution on the spot. My 2A was still red coloured (paper licence under class 2A probation, licence was 9mths old). I tried to appeal through my MP and exhausted my other possible avenues in vain. Then I went to court 3 months later on 4 april 2001 with no hope that I will be let off, prepared for the worst. I received $700 fine and 2 months suspension. Got my licence at Ubi HQ 2 months later on 4 June 2001 and went for my Class 2 as scheduled unchanged as though I never lost my licence. In fact, I was very very lucky. Toned down my riding/driving and conveyed my aggression to the racetrack. Feels so much better now.

After speaking with some people with influence, they explained that my reasoning was very strong that's why I was let off with a sentence as light as a warning and a very short break from riding. Otherwise, I will be fined more than $700 then suspended of my 2A and 2B. And I will have to retake my 2B a year later in 2002. Looking back, I can only express my remorse and even laugh at my folly during those days. There is a real track 45mins across the custom, why do it on somewhere I can lose my licence and my life, worse, cause someone else to die.

I have nothing much to tell you but good luck. The chances of you losing all your licence is almost 100% unless you have a very strong reason. Please don't ask me about my reason. It was valid and the truth. I even produced evidence and my explanation in signed documentation by someone (not PAP MP) which the judge read carefully.

In any case you manage to escape this predicament, join the trackies in the forum. There are some really very fast riders around the forum. Don't cower behind the monitor screen. Go pit yourself against them in the track and you will definately appreciate speed and power more than you can ever imagine.

wow i never thought my predicament can generate so much interest. so far the letter is still not mailed to mi yet.. and i have pretty much prepared for the worst.

i will still keep everyone updated. And i am not much of a track person. and neither do i like to pit myself against other pple.. i juz like to ride fast coz i like to feel the speed and the control i have over my bike.

but well after this if i managed to keep my licence i will definately tone down.. these few days ride at 80km/hr.. sigh not used to it.. really boring..

Singapore road is too crowded and packed. TP hiding every possible way. Nowadays traffic jams and accident on the expressway is just so common. Nowdays i just keep to the speed limit. I have 4 classes of license and planned to take more. Its just not worth to lose it all over 140km/h and above for few seconds shiokness.

Actually i do not know why everyone is driving/riding so fast? When Singapore is such a small country. From East to west, max is 55km. Just enough to go Machap R & R.

I reserve my appetite to speed in Malaysia NSHW only.

Gilbert, I totally agree to the following 3 posts. The public road here is not for your aggression. Reserve it for the racetrack. And even if you like to ride your bike fast doesn't make you a fast rider. That's a huge thumbs down for you. There're plenty of fast riders in the forum who will be able to guide you in the racetrack. Everyone who followed me to the track all fell in love with the track. I don't think you will be an exception. All you need to do is to go to the trackie threads and lookout for the next available track day. Find out from those guys how do you modify and maintain your machine to be track worthy. In the track, the bike make some difference but your skills are everything. OF course, all these are only possible if you still have your licence at the end of the day. Otherwise, taking you out of the road is the next best solution.

after reading everything... i think u guys should not judge mi.. first i admit that 140 is a tad bit too fast but. 80km/hr??? pls i am sure i am not the only person who goes above 80km/hr. if pple who drive or ride at 90km or 100km shuld b taken off... i think our traffic congestion problem shuld b solved liao...

next pls read wat i type carefully... i never said i was fast.. although i do have the intention of going to track i never put it into action.. coz i dun have much biker frens much less trackies... so ya.. and i am not an aggressive rider..

that day i was rushing to work... my company got demerit points system for puntuality. if u chalk up enuf they will dismiss u... i was rushing for work not some agressive road racing. pls i put this thread coz i have a situation that i am stuck in and have no experience dealing with it.

its always easy to say serve u rite. if u wake up earlier for work... late is not a reason to speed... but like i said wat is done is done..

and i always believe in retribution.. for pple who come add salt to injury all i can say is one day when u are in a situation and u r lost.. the same thing will happen to u...

lastly dun judge someone when u dun even know them..

No use at certain point. TP bike so silent and fast. Need to tell them to change to Aftermarket pipes.

Y? Imagine you already check you mirror. So need to wait 3-5sec more. Within 2-4 sec, TP can be at your side already. Hahah.

I still dun understand those folding their mirrors when riding. If for aerodynamic purpose, then better take them off. Less weight on the bike.

The other bros were right to say you deserve to be taken off the road.:thumb: I drive and ride safely since that court case, learnt my lesson well and thankful to be given a 2nd chance which I will not exploit for negative gains. I've been demerit points free for 8 years. I know there're people with better records. I do this by staying close to the speed limits as much as possible. Even for burst of speeds have been very very brief. Just to overtake and stay away from hazards. Much less worry about losing my licence again. Respect the other road users as we all co-exist in peace. Contain my aggression and unleash it once in a while when I got new tyres in the track. I don't have much trackie friends. I too made friends the trackie way by playing against them first in the track and shaking hands with spotsmanship at the pit telling them, "it was a great ride!" It's only a matter of guts and effort. Nobody wants to judge you but if what you wrote is what you feel, you are indeed a menace on the road since you persist in your old ways and find ways to justify the mistake. The TP did the right thing to stop you. The karma is working on you, not the bros who merely told you the truth unfiltered. Much have been said. I hope you will reflect on your deeds and good luck to your case.

TS,

sorry to hear your case. it is undeniable fact that we tend to go faster on our expressway especially when the traffic volume is light. more often than not, i can see big bikes are speeding past me. it's just matter of luck. jz plan ur journey earlier if possible. if really have to speed when u're gg to be late, be careful of ur surrounding. pay special attention to the big lorries, there could be a tp infront of it. when u speed passed them, it's when tp notices u and give u a chase. also, if u r not in the rush, go mellow and enjoy every second of ur riding.

did the TP followed u this way like this jap TP where he clocked behind u for sometimes and turned on his blinkers? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poE6Uzj5gx0

btw, those tp riding VFRs, they can print ur speeding receipt. did u ask for it?
