I've not experienced this before so I don't know the effects. You might get lots of white smoke burning 4T? What i'd do is try to disconnect the 2T hose from the 2T pump (do not run the engine which will start the pump), and drain away the offending 4T oil.

Refill with 2T and you're good to go.

The residual 4T after this will probably not interfere with anything and just be burnt off.

It's really not as bad as you think it is (ie, won't make your engine blow up instantly), because Mazda rotary engines actively inject oil into their combustion chambers for lubrication during high power situations. And that's normal car oil to you.

Some Mazda enthusiasts on the RX8.com then developed a procedure of disabling the computer controlled oil injection system, and mixing motorcycle 2T into their petrol tanks for superior lubrication.

if u wanna play safe then go bikeshop n drain out the 2t lor

if not u can just keep topping 2t now n then to dilute the 4t

the most if piston jam due to insufficient lube nia la

the engine wont blow up

So far still okay only ocassional white smoke that can kill mosquitoes.Top up a bit of 2T inside the petrol just in case.

Alright! That's to be expected. If engine is smooth and the white smoke clears out by the time you need to refill your 2T tank, then forget about the incident.

HOWEVER....

I still highly recommend flushing the 'contaminated' 2T tank out as you do not want unburnt 4T in your catalytic converter. (if your bike is a 2 stroke with a cat). No cat? Screw it.

How much smoke? Take a pic lol I'm curious.

since 1994 you have owned "Yamaha RXK135,Yamaha RD125YPVS, Yamaha SDR200, Yamaha FZR150,Aprilia RS125Extrema,Yamaha DT200WR,Yamaha RX-Z135 6 speed,Kawasaki KR150ZX,Yamaha RX-Z135 5 speed with Catalyzer kits". Thats quite a number of 2 stokers and you still cant differentiate 4t and 2t?? hmmm

Don't so bad to him. We all make mistakes.

Anyway TS, i think should not really be a problem la. If you tank is full, then go to any mama shop/grocery store to buy those plastic pump to suck out your petrol.

If you tank is like half full, then just pump more petrol and put more 2T inside ah. Sure got alot of smoke like mosquito bugging but really bo pian ah.

Nothing serious lah ....i ever hear people so "broke until" , he drain out 4T engine oil and use for 2T when he change his engine oil. dun know meant to be a joke or wat :)

Possibly 'some oil is better than no oil' in that case but putting all the metal shavings and other crap in used EO back into the engine to be burnt is like.. don't do that at home lol.

You can nominate that for a 'recycling' project though! Like setting fire to unwanted crude oil...

lol OK now I wonder the effect of mixing 2T into 4T engine.

If you're a Mazda rotary engine tuner, using motorcycle 2T with your petrol will give superior engine protection.

Wtf?

No wtf, because Mazda rotary (aka Wankel) engines inject EO into the engine chamber to be burnt under high throttle. Some enthusiasts at a RX8 forum discovered that disabling the computer controlled oil injection and using motorbike oil instead provided better protection (oil film) over the entire engine chamber as opposed to the OEM oil injection & car oil which didn't flow well enough.

There are people who claim putting 2T in a 4T's petrol tank makes it run smoother. Lubricate the valves?

At the expense of deposits building up on the spark plug and threatening letters from other forum members claiming impending doom to their engines...

As for putting 2T into the main oil sump. Erm, I don't think 2T's lubrication properties will be adequate under those kind of conditions. It's meant to mix well with fuel and be burnt off as sacrifical protection, in my kopitiam engineering language, that is.

I check oil manufacture site, 2T oil don't have viscosity index like 4T oil. Mainly they mention the ratio of oil and petrol mix. Hence not sure if 2T oil de-grade rapidly under high temperatures operation.

I think the key to 4T is high temperature shear resistance, additives for protection/performance and such. 2T as you said just isn't engineered for the same purpose!

An interesting note from some oil geek forums (with some Harleys and supersport bikes in it).

Turbo Diesel Pickup Oil is apparently a favourite for some foreign bikers due to high levels of phosphorous and other additives sought after in a bike oil. Their reasoning is that since turbos run at >100,000 RPM, use oil for cooling and lubrication; conversively no bike engine generates that kind of stress.

As in, stock, non race, non turbo street bike...

i dunno if it is a joke or not... if i were too broke, i rather use mineral oil rather than 2t...
