Hi all,

I was wondering what class 2 bikes are for shorties like me, around 1.67m tall.

I know choppers are ideal, but i am not into choppers. More of naked bikes and touring kind. I see Fazer1000 and ST11 all quite tall for me. Any suggestions?

The fz1 is ok for u , cos m 1.67m too n no problem wif the fz1. U can join the meet up sessions for the fazers to try it out . Even now i onli have a slight issue on the FJR as the seat is wider.

With adequate experience and confidence you can definitely get used to riding any bike in a manner that is safe. Just pick the one that you feel most connected to.

Thanks for the vote of confidence! is ur fz1 suspension at minimum settings? Good to hear from someone without any issues..

I tink the wider seat also pose as an issue. tried on a pan european, was really too wide for me. was barely tip toeing.. n the bike is heavy.. i guess the difficulty is during stopping. i used to ride a gilera, was also tip toeing.. but gilera is light, so balancing aint much of an issue.

looks like i need to find a fz1 to try on.:thumb:

if you can't get on the bike easily, how are you going to handle the bike during the 'take-off'?

handling the bike on the move, and handling the bike at stationary/super slow speed is very different.

I think somehow, if you like a bike enough, you tend to find a way around it. I have a female friend who stands at just 1.6m, but she chucks around her 1200gs with ease, be it during slow maneuvers or on the highway.

I think with a decent understanding of the way the weight distribution occurs on a bike, you'll get around the problem eventually.

One technique i find helpful; i'm a short rider myself at 1.65m, is to slide your butt half off the seat (think knee down cornering) when you come to a stop. Doing so, I was able to put half my foot down, not just the toes, on a dirt bike with over 900mm of seat height.

The drawback of course is that you feel your groin muscle is slightly stretched, but it's really not as bad as it sounds.

1.67m but your legs could be long enough! Experience these kinda problems a lot in cycling.

You never know till you try! :)

( Unless you've tried, then I've nothing to say :p )

cycling different la. cycling can hop off saddle, and stand above the frame.

anyway, u can also consider change to lower seat. most stock seat are pretty plush. if you can settle for lower profile seat, it helps. and like of the post above mentioned, you can move your butt sideways, or at stop, lean on one side slightly. for slow traffic, dont put down ur legs trying to touch the ground.. that's not safe either..

Bro I shorter than u, I am 1.65 only.. FZ1 definitely no problem. Otherwise can try fjr or busa. The seat height is lower. Seat width can be fixed easily by cutting off some cushion at saddlery shop.

U will get used to it as time goes by. Don't worry just go for the bike you like. Never try never know.

Thanks bros for the encouragement..!

Time to shop for my new bike.. take my time n research..

hope i dun take too long.. haha, cos i feel that i should get a bike that i really like for class 2. Cheers!

FZ1 is not a problem most ladies rider go for FZ....

as for power starting u might scared that u r not use to it. After ur run in or 1mth of ur riding u will get use to it. Not too sure how fast does the FZ power kick in but once u season u will get bored of the min speed u can use in sg.

There is someone out there for me

I know there is someone out there

I know she is waiting so patiently yeah

Can you tell me her name?

(Somebody tell me her name)

This life-long search is gonna drive me insane

How does she laugh?

How does she cry?

What's the color of her eyes?

Does she even realize I'm here?

Where is she? Where is she? Where is she?

Where is this beautiful girl?Who is she? Who is she?

Who is gonna complete my world?

i think u can cut the foam in the seat but that means less cushion or u could add gel pads in it. think u can do it at any shop that does seat modifications.
