From my personal experience, will take some time to adjust. At the beginning may feel regrated too. But after few months will start to enjoy the xj6. Really up to indiviual, if want speed n power, than really need to thrash the bike hard. Anyway, xj6 are meant to be rev....

Hi guys, its been 1 week since i got the bike. First few days like what bro itr714 says regret selling my R1 only for the last 2 days than i'm starting to feel the engine better. Now @ 450+km hopefully as the engine breaks in will get slightly more power. BTW i heard the gear change on this bike is smooth and easy. really don't think so. Could i be a problem with my bike?

In the beginning u may feel slightly tight on the gear shifting. For me, I actually change my EO at 500km (mineral oil), after that better. After 2k km change to full syn more smooth. But don't compare to ur R1, remember xj6 is not close ratio gearbox.

Hi bro, just wanna let you know. Yamaha is having a promo till 15 Feb i think. Free $500 Dainese product voucher @ JR, Yamaha Original Bike cover and 3 free first service with YamaLube. Total freebies cost close to about $900.

Just to let you know if the bike shop did not give you this info.

Yeah, i think its the EO and its running in. I realised that if i ride it more relaxed and not trying to quick shift and pulling away quickly at traffic lights its pretty smooth.

I feel at least after 2 or 3 EO change than the engine starts to feel loosen up. My bike feels more respondsive and powerful now as compare to when it's new.

Thing i love abt this bike is that its light and zippy with enough power to pull away when needed

Advice for those who want to change ur clutch/brake lever. Buy the longer version, shorter version is too short for four finger operating n not long enough for three finger operating.

I kind of prefer the long levers. when in slow traffic i use 3 fingers sometimes 4 (depends if the pinky feels like moving).. when on highway, 2 fingers enough

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey Guys, Would like to check, any one knows if there's a tank bra for this bike??

My dad is happily ridding his white XJ6s for about 2mths.. Wanna help him pimp up his ride..

Do wave if ya see him, usually seen on the ECP/AYE... To and fro his work place...

Peace....

Its always, "Which tyre is good on WET?" Why not ask, "Which road is good when WET?"

Not sure about ready made cover, but can get it custom made at Auntie shop for sure.
