If I not wrong, size 7 is shorter, thus it will get hot very fast. Size 9 is wat is call a cold plug because it is longer(length), thus heat can dissipate easier.

What I mean for long distance use size 9 so that ur engine(if I not wrong) won't overheat as u ride for a pro-long period of time.

Size 7 is normally for smaller cc bikes. So that it can go into their normal working temperature fast enough (too cold engine is not good, must be rite working temperature than can function well).

So size 8 is good for Spore's start n stop riding.

but the saving is enough for the saving of the cost of the plug?

i also experienced better performance with iridiums ...could be psychological though

guess it depends on the firing of the plugs..

from the combustion & dissipation of fuel

higher end models like the tapered splitfire etc are designed

to give you a cleaner & stronger combustion ratio in the piston chamber

thus saving yr pistons from heavy handed mech workshops that execute you

the moment you say piston jam

in a nutshell higher end plugs simply provid a cleaner combustion, fuel quality is also crucial but for singapore, no worries fuel wise quality is good enough our lowest is ron92, for other countries they still using ron90

hope this helps

For run in just find the cheapest mineral oil to run ur spec 3. Change oil often for the first 3000km and dont forgot the oil filter. After that use wat ever u want...

No lah, juz that I barely have time to know more about my bike before some 'driver' crashed his car into me...some way to drive. The bike spent the next few months in the carpark. :faint:

Basic service info I am still ok, juz that I dun want to spend that $40 towing just to change the engine oil and such. Silly rite...

Just realised that the oil warning lighted up only when the bike is started, after a sec gone liao. :|

For the knowledge management part, sounds good, but I think much of the basic knowledge are in the stickys liao.
