The VFR is also slightly too tall and heavy for me... I've had my share of precarious moments. This bike is meant to be on the go. Stationary, it's like a whale. When it's on the move... it's a dream.

Kawa support in singapore not so exciting eh? Saw a ZX14 at Looi's... maybe getting it there is better?

Anyway, what got me going was seeing this beautiful red new FZ1 at a car park recently. Very nice indeed. However, think i will miss the fairing and windshield on my VFR, besides many other things. haha

SlowLee... can see u a VFR diehard... Diehard V? hahaha

it feels like an elephant while doing a tight spot U turn too.. :giddy:

it's the waiting time for the parts that kills.. they (agent) don't keep stock for many spares, u'll need wait for months for them to import if u need one.

if u r talking about the 07 FZ1-S, not FZ1-N, Hong Leong had a pay option for full-fairing, but it cost about $1k odd.. :faint:

Is it? Which parts? Anyway there's eBay and internet sales now, so parts are not that rare, unless your bike is rare itself.

Forgot to mention VFR was my second choice...I was actually looking for a Diversion900....hehe...

Thanks for feedback on kawas. Perhaps i should be careful before I get one, if i have to lay up the bike for months if I need a spare.

What's the difference between FZ1-S and N? A fairing may be worth the 1k if one really likes the bike and engine.:cheeky:

FZ1-N is the naked version, where FZ1-S is the half-fairing version. Saw one 07 FZ1-S @ GP esso with yamaha original full fairing.. Sweet stuff.. :lovestruck:

I think it was VfrT who bought it at $70 at LAB. I had a prob abt batt last time too... Once u replace with the heavy duty one that Hamzter mentioned. Everything shld be fine. I bought mine last year too. Had been running for a year and half already. Still running strong.

Sorry guys for the late reply ..

Bght FURUKAWA brand battery at LAB on 9 Nov 06 for $67. Its claimed to be made in Japan. Dont know the model - just tell him the equivalent Yuasa Model. Its still running strong (i use 90/100W lamps).

I also bght my rectifier from LAB on the same day for $140.

cheers

I'm currently an owner of a used 1999 VFR800 which I bought in May 2003. I'm the 4th owner and so far, this has to be the longest time duration that I hold on to a bike. 4 years and 2 mths. No problems, except for the occasional wear and tear of parts.

1987 - Yamaha LC125

1988 - Yamaha LC350

1989 - Yamaha FZ400

1995 - Suzuki GSXR750

1997 - Kawasaki ZXR750K2 (race bike)

2002 - Yamaha FZR1000

2003 - Honda VFR800Fi

What's next?

Cars:

1996 - Nissan 100FA

1997 - Hyundai Elantra

1998 - Honda Civic

2001 - Toyota Corona

2002 - Renault Scenic

2004 - Toyota Picnic

Any recommendations on how to clear carbon if I don't have time to go to M'sia?

Someone said to hold at 6k rpm for 2 mins. Anyone tried that?

Engine very sluggish now at low rpm... must be the carbon clog up.

haha... good one!

but as for dyno run... how does that help reduce the carbon build-up? I'm looking for a more repeatable kind of treatment to get rid of it, especially if I don't go for long fast runs often enough.
