i agree that FF is the way to go. My neighbour got into accident. He was wearing open face helmet and cracked his chin.

I saw that pic quite some time ago n ever since then i have not worn open face except when i took my 2a n later when i take my cl2.

I ride a 200cc gilera runner, but i wear a shoei multitec. I get weird looks everywhere i go. Even my best fren said that im wearing a class 2 helmet on a class 2b bike.

I dont get it.

Y equate price of helmet with price of bike? i equate the price of my helmet to the value of my head. and i value my head and face a lot. especially because i wear specs n i feel that my eyes are vulnerable with an open face helmet.

Sometimes i feel angry when i see pple wearing funny2 small helmets and some ride with slippers n shorts. But to each his own. I guess for these pple their skin n face n head n life is very cheap. N before u argue that u cannot afford a full face, do check out motoworld's trade in offers on hjc helmets. i believe u can get for 100+.

My partner was similarly dressed when he was recovering from his bike accident. Gilera Runner, Shoei Multitec, Dainese jacket, Icon jeans, riding boots and gloves.

But these days when he wears his Nolan Air helmet he lazy to put the chin bar in. :box:

When you're about to hit the ground, doesn't matter what bike you were riding beforehand.

I've seen Ducati riders wear MHR open face helmet before. I was like sibeh siah suay mannnnn...

This is something I can never understand. If a rider can spend so much on a Ducati, why can't they spend money on a good FF helmet?

To me, open-face helmet is just there for riders to serve the law. It's not there to protect your head, chin, etc.

Biking is something that everyone can learn and enjoy! :goodluck:

we as rider on the road should take up the responsibility, gear up and ride... cultivate it so when the next generation of riders step up eventually it would be a norm for them to ride in FF, jacket, shoes and jeans.

After reading felt ashamed that I left something which protect me at home... using a flimsy OF day in day out. Constructicon brought up a good suggestion shall heed the advise.

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

Yeah I had got a few tooth loose. FF is good is but very inconvenient with specs. Any tips for this?

i think it depends on ur face shape la. my face shape is kinda long type and i dont have problem with specs in any of my fullface helmets. whereas my friend with a rounder face shape has problems wearing specs with his fullface.

actually chin is a very bad place to get hit... apart from losing teeth, cracking jaw etc it can also cause the brain to shake

boring rider. with a boring bike.

too old to want to appear interesting anymore.

wow.. i didnt know the chin area is the highest contact area till i came to this thread.. interesting.. hmmmm. but 2B bike, with FF helmet.. wouldnt it look abit ummm?.. weird?..

Erm sorry, u call that weird?

What about walking around with missing teeth or a cracked jaw? now thats weird.

There was once i saw a video of a man who juz had an accident and his jaw split into 2. N he was still conscious. He could talk but his mouth opened up like an alien's. Totally gross.

Wish i could find the link to show u guys.

Eh, ur partner and i have same tastes lah. I was even thinking of getting a Nolan N43air as a 2nd helmet!

Heed the TS.

Had a personal experience once. . . I was lucky to be wearing FF and managed to walk away after the fall. The scratch marks on the FF was from the chinbar all the way up to the forehead portion. . . was staring at the tarmac about 1.5 inches from my face as I went sliding.

I didn't need more to convince myself to keep wearing FF. . .

He complain very noisy. So he only wears it while riding his scooter. I find removing and putting back the chin bar very leceh. Good thing is it takes up less space with the chinbar removed.
