Hi everyone. I have bought the bike in page 105 and am now a proud owner of a hornet 250. Just some questions to ask though.

1) Is there any reserve fuel or something? Cos the guy told me hornet no fuel knob.

2) Is there any engine guard or similar products for this bike?

3) What air pressure to pump for the tyres? (90+kg with no pillion)

1) Is there any reserve fuel or something? Cos the guy told me hornet no fuel knob.

No fuel c***. Use your fuel gauge. When the indicator hits the red zone. It means that you are on reserve.

2) Is there any engine guard or similar products for this bike?

Only Frame Sliders available. For extensive guards, need to request from BBDC.

3) What air pressure to pump for the tyres? (90+kg with no pillion)

If you look at your chain guard, the tyre pressure reference should be there. It states 225 for Front and 250 for Rear.

See all are Exited & Getting Ready for The Mountain Ride...

 :cheeky: :cheer:

Doing Your Servicing this Sat is Good...

Give it a few days to run the bike in Spore before the Ride North.

(just in case doesn't work well)

K & T @ Ubi.. Best go early eg. 9am... Clifford not busy.

As For Baggage... It is gd to invest in a tank, tail bag.

(nice gesture Motrax.. payable when able)

Just Make sure all secure...

remember one of the biker passport & wallet flew of on ride up to pd.

http://www.cameronhighlands.com/images/stories/tn_gbrinchang.jpg

If really too rush to get one....

just strap a nylon bag to seat with a Elastic Net...

That's what I do on my trip to Krabi... works just as well.

Remember... Wrap your clothings with a plastic bag inside nylon bag...

So when the rain comes... dry.

Important documents in plastic bags...

Convoy normally don't stop for light/med rain...

Thanks. May i ask how much to get the frame sliders with installation? Does it protect the exhaust from getting scratched too should it fall?

Ok i have a few more questions to ask again.

1) Is it normal for it to be smooth up until 8k rpm before it starts to roar?

2) After starting and riding for awhile, i start to hear some soft sounds like *klakaklakaklakla* from the engine. This does not happen when i start the bike in the morning. Might it be the fan?

3) Is it alright for the engine to cruise at a certain speed for a long amt of time?

Hornet 250 power bank starts at Higher Rpm...

Think 9000 & above...

So to enjoy pwr... stay around there... Sports bike Eng.

40 bhp...

Just as a ref.. S4 53 bhp.... but more low torque due eng capacity...

Slider will not protect Exhaust...

Unless Motrax can think of something...

Not sure leaving pillion foot stand out will help...

AS for *Karklakaklakaklakla* Forza, wayang... care to comment...:thumb:

Hi there, frame slider only can max protect the engine.. as for the exhaust is way too high for it to protect..

Frame sliders at $70 installation $5bucks or you can diy.

Eh? Soundz funny, leh. Klaka..klaka..klaka (in melayu means funny, funny, funny)

For cars normally the valve tappet or fan-bearing...that produces this kinda soundz but for 4-stroke bikez really not sure, leh...lost my mechanic touch liow.....

Changed many jobs....Maybe can meet up at my place? Simple fault can help you but the harder better refer to a Mechanix. I'm on leave til Friday....

Anyone knows where to install the K & N air filter for the hornet 250?

Heard its not avail here (maybe have to import from abroad)

Is a super four k&n filter suitable to be fixed onto the 250? with some mods...?

its normally smooth from 1.5k up tp 16.5k after that the bike jerks ... the bike doesnt roar but it screams ... ppl in Europe call this little bug a "screamer" ...

2) After starting and riding for awhile, i start to hear some soft sounds like *klakaklakaklakla* from the engine. This does not happen when i start the bike in the morning. Might it be the fan?

if the sounds are soft its okay ... try revving the bike and check the rpm ... if its constant without fluctuating ... you are okay ... alternatively you should change your existing engine oil ... just to be on the safe side ... try to use fully synthetic oil ... you can whack the sh*t out of the bike with an ease of mind ... :faint:

3) Is it alright for the engine to cruise at a certain speed for a long amt of time?

this is debateable ... but my advice is that you try to regulate the speed up and down a little bit ... sometimes the bike is like human ... they dont like monotonous things ... they want to ridden as hard as possible as per their creator design ... but at the same time ... they like to be pampered and cared with accessories and top grade fuel and top grade KNN air filter and top grade fully synthetic oil etc etc ... treat your bike with care and she/he/it will take care of you for life ... cos your life is balanced on the her/his/its wheels ...

cheers! :thumb:

No worries.

For the rest of the guys. This tailbag is still available for loan.

Its originally a old model tank bag with harness meant for bigger bikes with tank bra. So no Magnets.

Due to its lack of new features, its more like a tailbag for those with pillion seats that is wide enough now.

Has matching Side Saddle Bags, but those won't fit on the hornet due to the hornet's high exhaust.

BTW, the item is a display piece so its actually new but looked worned out which is why I have reservations about selling it.

If you are keen to loan it. All you have to do is drop by my place to test it out and let me take lots of pics of it on your bike.
