Thks for the all the Self Incrimination Statements on the Hornet 's top spd. :giddy:

Next time Highway Mata will say he read about it @ "Hornet Forum".

Ha Ha...

Anyway...

Sports mag uses runway to test Bikes.

The Speed is measured with more precise instrument.

Our speedo are not that accurate... usually a 5kmh over-read... o_O

And it is their work to test bikes. They are also racers.

Wind would also effect the data.

& also the bike provided to them by the local dealer.

Different country gets differect spec. eg US, Canada, Aust, Europe, Japan.

Remember.

Bigger cc/hp bike normally takes a shorter time to reach their top spd.

What's probably more important to us is the

Usable pwr (torque) eg 0 - 150kmh.

(Low - Mid Torque) that's where the Hornet Pwr band is.

That's why the Hornet 600 are so popular in Europe.

(sort of like S4 in Spore)

As a Gauge against other bikes:

Published figures Max Spd(2 Wheels only Uk Mag)

Bmw GS 1200 210kmh

Bmw R1200RT 210kmh

Ducati Monster 620 185kmh

Ducati Monster 1000 220khm

Harley V rod 220kmh

Fat Boy 190kmh

S4 180km

Hornet 250 180kmh

Hornet 600 240kmh

Hornet 900 245kmh

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v484/2100spectrum/919_large_03.jpg

FZ1000 250km

FZ600 220kmh

Z1 Kawa 225kmh

FJR 245kmh

STX 1300 220kmh

Sport Bikes

ZX12 Kawa 303kmh

Hayabusa 303kmh

Blackbird 280kmh

1000cc sport bikes 290kmh

600cc sports bike 255kmh

These are fig quoted by the Mag

And it gives an idea of the perf of the bike.

Whether we can get it on our bike will depends on

Rider & road condition.

Given the Pwr to Wt ratio.

All these bikes are over pwr.

As a guide...

Street bikes does not has high spd stablility.

And is not build for high spd.

So mag recommends they stay below 200kmh.

Dear Hornet members,

im VERY interested in gettg a H250. Hope you can help me with some questions on the H250:

1) whats the monthly maintence like?

2) is the riding position similar to s4? also similar for the pillion?

3) does it need coolant?

4) any specific "models" in H250 recommended?

thanks all!

1) most of my maintenence depends on my mileage.. monthly all i spend on is installments n petrol to keep goin..

2) similar.. but no the same.. the hornet is more sporty in my NSHO(not so humble opinion.. lolz)

3) yes.. of cos.. liquid cooled inline4 thank you

4) minor comestic changes tru out its production years.. but no specific models..

your welcome

yeah i got them already and getting ready for 3ncr. right now damn hard to get used to the extra width. so i will only put them on when on touring mode.

pos·er (pozr) n.

A Sportbike rider who habitually pretends to be something he is not and only care about how they appear to the public as their bikes are nothing more than props to get them noticed by girls or even teenage boys which they want to impress with fictional tales of all the hardcore riding they do.
