yahoo[/MENTION].com;7430474]Hi Cbkooky,

I see. Headunit is mounted on the left hand side lockable compartment? and 4" speakers mount on Dashboard next to Meter?

hi. recommended is the left hand side as most easy access for switchin modes etc, unless you have a remote elsewhere hook up. the speaker is mounted behind the two mesh grilles that you see, one on each side of the glove compartment. need to mount with the housing.

IMO its not but I guess battery price has went up and last i change was around the price you pay. Considering the new ballistic battery next round ... Not sure if Eversuccess or FJT sells cheaper. Self install.

its actually quite simple to diy. quite a number of things can buy and self diy with basic st13 tool. Used to diy some maintenance but due to time constraints and commitments, just donate shop abit $$ save the hassle. sometimes certain maintenance need additional equipments like brakepad change, may need compress air to blast the dirt and dust out. if you have the time and tools, really can save $$.

some i can think off..

-air filter

-changing of headlight and t10 bulbs

-oil filter/ EO (hassle of disposing)

-removing of panels

- Battery change

-access to fuse compartment

- brake pads ( may need abit of technical exp)

How nice if there's someone in this forum can open a class for simple DIY. Charging a small fee, i reckon, will be acceptable to learn these skills.

Anybody have the below situation before?

There is a "groaning" sound coming from the front wheel area. When there's a sound i can feel the vibration up the handlebars. Asked Ah Hai while doing my servicing just before CNY, he says it's usually the brake pad and the disc. He checked the bearing and nothing wrong with it. So I washed the front brakes (sprayed water) but the sound is still occurring.

Any cause to worry? I don't like the sound especially when I push the bike around at the customs. So good bike sound like lau kok kok.

My Rides:

LuLu, Piaggio Gilera Runner FXR 180 (Feb05-Aug05)

PhanPhan, Honda Phantom TA 200 (Aug05-July07)

Leyley, HD Sportster XL1200R (Jul07-July09)

TiTi, Yamaha Majesty YP250 (Jul07-Oct09)

DyNaNa, HD FXDX Dyna SGS (Jul09-Dec10)

LanPaPa, Vespa Excel PX150XE (Oct09-Jul10)

PiaSekSek, Piaggio X8 (Aug10-Dec10)

Stixie, Honda ST1300A (Jan11-Nov15)

Giogio, Piaggio MP3 400IE (Nov15-??)

I'm having these same sounds, but from the rear. When press rear brake, sound goes off, when release rear brake, sound comes on.

I suspect that the rear brake calipers( pistons) need to be serviced. Most probably they are sticking so even when the brakes are not applied, the pads are still touching with pressure against the brake disc. These causes the sounds to be produced.

if you just changed the pad recently, then it could be due to the new pads. such pads such as vesrah which i experience before have this sound. after rain when it dries up also have, it go away but after some time. most important, just make sure the pads are not running thin till it grips the disc. try to check from the front and rear by looking through the calliper. it could be due to the sticking too...otherwise, have your calliper service and change brake fluid if its due. when they service the calliper they will open and clean the piston inside.

Same as mine. Dun think caliper got issue, cos my bike only one year old. After change Rear break pad, sound came out. Confirmed with bike shop, pad installed properly.

Hi guys,

Really need your help on this one. here is the list of wat occured to my bike.

1. FI light is on. it stays on no blinks nothing

2. i lost power when the light is on. like there is additional resistance. can move but slow.

3. frequent backfiring at the exhaust.

4. after parking i noticed the right exhaust inner tip became every red. only the right side exhaust.

is there any reason for these occurances? anyone can recommend me a mechanic that i can go to for this case? i think its something to do with the internal wirings. even so , i am not sure. maybe any sifu here can advice me on this matter. it would be much appreciated. really love the bike. but somehow she got very sick all of a sudden.

thannks guys.
