i am wearing puma high cut boots to work daily. and i leave my working shoes(dress shoes) in office. got it from regina FYI.

even when pouring, my socks are still dry. of course when it's coupled with my rs-tachi raincoat.

most of the time when i ride, i will be wearing the boots. safety first yo. ;)

cheers! :)

yeah googled pics of puma riding boots and i find them well-designed (most of them at least).

saw this at regina

the only puma range they have...went to a few puma outlets earlier but could find any riding boots...a waste of time :sian:

I'm not too sure whether the sidi boots that you listed are waterproof. Based on my search online, it doesn't seem so. on a sidenote, revzilla.com does not list the 2 models under waterproof boots

im not too sure myself either...the staff at chiong aik wasnt around when i was there so i didnt ask...i feel both design a bit over the top...i wouldnt want to walk around looking like a racer :cheeky: actually i was there to look for cheaper alternative to all the branded names out there but didnt find any...so the search continues......

For those who are looking for some waterproof riding shoes which looks like dress shoes might want to consider the following 2 models from Alpinestars

http://www.alpinestars.com/shop/categories/moto/footwear/touringroad-riding/monaco-wp-shoe/

http://www.alpinestars.com/shop/categories/moto/footwear/shibuya-shoes/shibuya-wp-leather-shoe/

Dainese seems to have some pretty nice ones as well. So far I'm looking at the following:

http://www.dainese.com/wd_en/motorbike/scarpa-ssc-d-wp.html?cat=26&subcat=28 - Selling at $306 at JR Singapore

http://www.dainese.com/wd_en/motorbike/scarp-ssc-charlie.html?cat=26&subcat=29

http://www.dainese.com/wd_en/motorbike/scarpa-ssc-delta.html?cat=26&subcat=29

Not too sure of the water-proof abilities for the 2nd and 3rd pair of Dainese though

X-cube is a fantastic pair of boots. Really love the cut and the durability. Gotten it replaced when it was worn out, currently on Alpinestars Roam but I called Chiap Lee and they don't bring in X-cube anymore.

From what I gather, ordering from Revzilla would be more cost-effective. Even the Dainese products ordered from Revzilla is cheaper than buying from JR.

Shibuya can be bought from Regina, slightly cheaper than ordering online. Or you can look for the main distributor of Alpinestars, Racing World.

It's just opposite JR, at the Zervex. 8 Ubi Road 2 #01-14 Zervex.

Actually, I would rather order stuffs online. Like how I wanted the Dainese Contact or the Alpinestars 365. JR quoted me $350 for Dainese Contact and Racing World quoted me $300 for the Alpinestars 365.

Prices with shipping after conversion is much cheaper, like how I asked Revzilla for the Dainese Contact and Riders Discount for the Alpinestars 365. Savings of at least $50 and above.

Might not always be cheaper to buy online. I was checking out the Alpinestars Fastlane WP shoes from RacingWorld about a month ago. They were selling at below SGD250, while Revzilla was selling at USD199.95. Works out to be about slightly less than SGD300 inclusive of shipping if buying from Revzilla.

Yep, things are like this at times. So gotta do ample research!

i've tried rain cover for shoes before but quickly found the concept troublesome and not practical. Its additonal item to wear before riding off as opposed to wearing water proof boots and simply gearing up without taking the boots off. Can't imagine pulling over by E lane with sudden downpour and having to put on so many pieces. I think its for this reason they are seldom used :deal:

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

Hi guys thanks for sharing all the bits & pieces of the products and reviews!

All my riding life since NS (Honda Fireblade 400RR era), I had been on my

faithful SAF issued boots. Those boots were stiff and up-tight like G-string,

however as a RP we were forced to park ourselves in it all-day-long. :giddy:

Nine years ago before I ORD, they made Gortex boots available in emart.

I had been using those pairs since. My first pair had met an accident with

my Ducati 748 resulting in some somersault. Some years later on a high

speed crash along CTE at 80km/h (fukin driver drive away without stopping!)

, anyway those boots saved my ass. Yes I was one of those whom often

ride with shorts and slipper with superbikes hahaha. Had a taste of what

"proper riding attire" means when I hit a farking jay-walker at 20km/hr!

The jaywalker was flunk away and the bloody VFR800 landed on my feet;

the part that was in contact was the under-seat twin exhaust which almost

cooked my toe after 3 minutes. The doctor told me that the "cooking" had

almost disabled the nerves in my right leg's big toe. I was unable to move

my toe for three long months. From then on, slipper and sandals are a no no.

Eventually, my mech told me that there was an ABS failure as the mircochip

was unable to detect rain -thus locking the front wheel instead of intermediate

braking.

Currently, I am on my second pair of SAF gortex and a third fresh pair in box.

Planning to keep some stock of these till I ROD in a few years time.

PS: for those who still feel that the sandals will "do-it-all", well all the best to ya!

The Dainese Nighthawk goretex boots are pretty good.

Have them for about two years, daily use, still holding up well, completely waterproof.

Comfortable over long duration while touring.

Design is very understated (completely black, unobstrusive logo) so may be a plus (for those who ride it to work) or a minus (for those who prefer something flashy).
