Most dive casings have a pressure of max depth of 40m. Most leisure diving is usually done above 40m so it is not much of a problem. If you are a newbie photographer, Canon cameras is recommended as it is mostly user friendly. But always double check that the camera you intend to buy has underwater casings as not all cams have it.

Anyone, been diving anywhere else in the world lately?

I am targeting the Canon A650 IS. 12.1 mpex. Still saving up for it though.

Coz being able to afford the camera but not the casing, kind of defeats the purpose of buying the camera.

Well, you can choose to dive at Manado or Sipadan now or wait for another 2 months for west malaysian waters to be open again. Last option, dive at local waters pulau hantu. :)

where do u guys suggest for PADI course?

:sian: This is a very subjective question wor... coz everyone got their own preference of school to go to. But most people who signed up with the dive school to do their OWD subsequently usually sticks with that dive school for most of their future trips.

btw, if you want me to recommend, pm me. I dun really want to do publicity for a certain dive school and wait kenna wack by others who patronise other shops. Hope you understand.

Why the rush to do a 2 in 1 combi? Wait till west malaysian waters are open and do your OWD first. Coz the OWD is where you judge whether you fall hopelessly in love with this sport or like most people get the cert and then "never really find the time to go again"

Oh yes 6-8mpex can take pretty good shots, but like all people, we always want the better and better ones. Plus, experience taught me.. stuff that are so small... haiz, you need a good camera... wait till i show you the pic of the eggs of clown fishes taken using 3.2mpex, dunno to feel proud that i spotted them or feel !@#$ that my pictures weren't clear enough.

I jio you go diving lor ... season opening soon :)

How come everyone so scared of the bus journey to Redang ah? Most of the time i pass JB, sit bus, I KO till next morning one. The most sian part to me is carrying the wet gears and then the jam at the customs on the way back to SG.
