Will probably miss the open dive season and head somewhere in Apr either that or I'll save my $ and go to Sipandan in June. Interested?

Eh? Isnt it typically depart Friday evening and return Sunday evening?

 

demon/seastorm... yeah most likely i'll go get this one since i can see its purpose both with and w/o the casing. hows olympus' camera quality ya reckon?

On the 795sw, the built quality is very good, much better than the Lumix F-1. Like most digital cams, night shots are not their strength. i don't think it's capable of taking underwater shots like seastorm's, but the fault may lie with the photographer rather than the equipment :angel:

 

I bought the cam in that electronic shop at the airport departure lounge last Nov. For $650 nett (no GST), i got camera + 2GB XD card + 1 spare original battery. Mustafa is selling it at $655, camera + 1GN XD card + 1 spare battery (not sure if it's original).

 

It's expensive for a digital camera, but there is no other camera now with the rugged, and water-proof features like the 795sw.

 

Mine is already a dated model with the released of the 1030sw.

Personal preference wise, I like both Canon and Olympus. In terms of casing, Olympus one is more user friendly. In terms of the specs, well it really depends on what you use the camera for. My cam is mostly used for underwater photography so I choose base on that. Do take note on the battery life. Coz that plays a major role when travelling.

Anyway, wanna meet up and compare the camera after you have gotten it?

Saw that you guys were talking about licensed diving centres and stuff. My uncle own the franchise of SSI in Spore, Msia and Brunei. So if you guys interested to learn from SSI (not neccessarily him cos he's the top man inside), do let me know, can get discount.
