oh.... thanks for that info. i was under the impression that on the expressways, bernoulli's effect can be particularly strong if you have a big top box and thus cause you to shake and reduce stability when a big vehicle passes you by.

my bike is fixed up with the E52 and 2 side boxes .....

didnt notice anything leh :D

or maybe im just too heavy

whahahaaa

LAB uses plastic base plates....

219 uses metal plates...

Not true. Just bought a Maxi 52 from 219. Real good installation job, especially since it is a custom fit to a Valk but plastic base. Can't see the problem really. Might be better than a metal base, at least weight wise.

PS: Stability problems with a big box could be due to a number of factors.

a) The box needs to be mounted neutral or turned slightly down in front. A box tipped back will tend to have the effect of a wing.

b) Tire pressure in the back needs to be high enough to avoid squirm and should be about 4 lbs more than the front tire.

Thanks about the info on the possible causes of instability. Will definitely keep them in mind :thumb:

Hi bikers,

I just bought a Silverwing 400 (Silver colour), and am considering to put a box on the back of my bike.

What's a cheap & good box should I get that can fit 1 full face & 1 open face helmets?

And where's a good cheap place to buy it from? (including installation)

Thanks guys!

Posted

why would u need a box when u can store 2 full face helmets under your seat.

anyway, u can check out givi boxes

check out the webbie http://www.givi.it for pix and go chiap lee for price

also, if u wanna sell your givi windscreen, im keen. *hint*

Hey guys,

today damn sad, the silver givi logo plate came off and now its so empty

any of u guys have similar experience?? or know of any place where i can get a replacements

Tks in advance!

Yap, theres what happend to my box. Too bad,its quite difficult to get replacement. But i manage to cover up by making a fake logo.

1) I get a picture of givi logo from net.

2) Print it nicely on a sticker paper.

3) Spray clear paint on it.

4) And now, i got a givi logo replacement.

Let's find the wind, mountains & the signs....

Alternatively, you can sell your existing box without logo to me. Of course giving me a good discount over a new box price and top up the rest to get a brand new box.

Good idea right?

PM me with details if you are interested to sell.

oo .. very nice tinking of printing the sticker.

i tot of buy those aluminium/plastics blocks and mill the givi logo out.. too much of a trouble though haha

maybe i wld go down to see if the LAB sells the givi logo.

erm .. bout selling the box. Nice try man!

Its a very nice box i muz say color matches my S4 exactly.

I wld let u noe if i wan to sell.

Tks for the advice guys!

Go to buy at LAB. Its cheaper than most places. No stoplight ah.... But its better if you do not want to have holes for the wirings on the box at 85 nett. Try to bargain and see if can get better deals. . Kelantan street.:goodluck:
