wad about Rjays stricker?

so if a helmet is snell approved, is good enuf to be used on racing track?

i used to have two models of rjays striker and loved it, but regina no longer sells them. if you do find a shop selling the latest design, pls let me know coz they're gorgeous. incidentally, the rjays striker was certified to snell.

as for whether good enough for track, well wats the diff between road and track? in fact i think road even more dangerous coz head might hit oncoming car.

**Update**

the rjays Striker is no longer listed on their website, it has been replaced by the Striker II. and neither of these helmets are certified to Snell.

to clarify, i used the original Striker about 4 years ago and back then it was indeed certified to Snell M2005. however, about last year the snell website listed that the striker's certification was only valid till early 2010, and now the website no longer lists the helmet. i believe this is because rjays knew they were going to discontinue the model and no longer sent the helmets for annual certification (helmets must be certified annually by snell to continue being certified, not one-off when first manufactured).

it was the outgoing striker model of last year that had a dam gorgeous design, and i wanted to buy but not carried by regina's. but now its a moot point, striker no longer manufactured and striker II not certified, so i wouldn buy. if u do find an original striker, it may be snell certified but beware year of manufacture; coz more than 2 years old no point.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

i just popped by the big shop facing the street across the hawker to get an mfizz ff flip up for 115.

not gonna grumble abt the price. but just wanna know if it's common for such flip-ups to have no cushioning on the face-plate chin area?

Bro, which shop u got ur helmet?

When I feel sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead. True story. Hehe :thumb:

Based on the description, should be Regina.

Besides, i dun think any other shops sell mfizz helmets except Lim Ah Boy or Regina; correct me if i'm wrong.

as TS mentioned and i've oso supported TS's saying in dis thread, DOT, ECE and/or SNELL approved FF helmets are way better than our local PSB approved. alot of ppl r now using non PSB approved FF but with better standards & none heard (at least i did not) they hav problems with the TP.

i'm using HJC FF with only ECE approved and TP looked at me for a few times on the road but they juz zoom off after a few glance.

afterall, its up to individual to judge wat they wana use. for me, i judge by the approved standards & quality of helmets.

its all about "at your own risk" issue actually. i personally roughly know how s'pore test the helmets by PSB standards. its er.... as compared to ECE, DOT, SNELL. i personally dun see any reason why the TP will fine u for dat BUT, u'll never know wat a TP, wif super bad mood, can do to u.

so far me & my biker frens did not encounter any prob so far for wearing FF. i only heard stories from my frens kena caught (for some good reason or for no reason) when they had their open face helmets on. :nono:

PS: I'm not disagreeing with open face helmets. again, its still up to individual to decide.

yeah,seriously

i dun recommand flip up

coz it will give way

a bit off topic, will a snell approved flip up give way?

go research on zeus zs-3000, pm me if interested, i've a list of ppl who want it n we're getting it at good price.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

i have my thoughts on the matter, but not to be taken as definitive becoz i'm obviously not an authority on the matter.

to be clear, so long as your helmet does not have PSB, technically can be fined regardless of whether dot/snell/ece. this part must make clear above all.

but like others here, i have worn ece/dot/snell full face helmet without PSB, stopped by TP for routine checks, and not get into any trouble. TP are bikers themselves, and i believe they know how silly it is on the ground to fine someone wearing a dot/snell full face while a $50 PSB open face goes away scot-free.

also, assuming you've got a helmet with genuine dot/ece/snell, visually they look different from non dot/ece/snell full face model you get across the causeway (whichever region). i've seen them, and some models i donno if the dot sticker for real or not. this is not so much an issue with models bought locally. so if you wear a full face that looks suspect, dun expect some dot sticker to save you.

Trial helmets - Open-faced with peak

Hi guys,

Anyone knows where I can find trial helmets in Singapore? The shops I have been to are either selling FF, MX or openfaced helmets. And I am not looking for the less expensive brands - preferably the "more reputable" brands, either angmoh or Jap ones.

There are some online stores but cant get without checking sizes.

Kindly advise. Many thanks.
