stock suspension is like that one ...

not bcoz of the heat ...

but i do admit the 04-06 shocks are closer to the mid pipe.

other solution is to change to a aftermkt pipe,

It's because of the heat la man. 04R1 design flaw. :(

Another friend changed it to a Penske. It felt better, but still faded abit after prolonged use. But overall, of course better. The cost to you, sir, $1700.

Nah. 2 years, same bike. Wanted something for more long distance work. Was offered a good price for it, so why not. :)

I only bought the FZ6 a few months later after selling off the Super4 too. But too bad the FZ6 is lacking in the grunt dept, so I sold it off a few months back. :p

I ordered mine .. TTX 36

Installed already? Shiok man, the Penske. I didn't wanna return my friend's bike after trying it out.

Wah, not bad man. U managed to secure a piece. Keep your original shocks, though. Install it back if/when you sell your bike and part the Ohlins separately.

For 1k bikes .. stock is 18x18

16x16 is for single disc bikes application like motards etc

new brembo pump coming out which is switchable btw 18 - 20, out in apr 08?

only difference is the feel of the brakes.

19 x20 have a "hard feel"

19x18 have a "softer feel" and spongy

however, 19x18 reacts faster as stroke is shorter

I'm quite sure stock is 16x16 cause I read it somewhere.

19 is piston diameter and 20/18 is distance of lever between piston to fulcrum. 18 doesn't exactly react faster, infact it requires more pulling distance to achieve same amount of power, but offers a wider range of pressure modulation. So by right 19x20 is tighter, but 19x18 has better feel.

I attached 2 gif files which I briefly drawn up and animated to explain the differences between the effect of pivot distances.

i think u mean k5 and k6. k7 onwards is the 2 exhaust thing that not many people are fond of :p but k5 and k6 same colors ?

Yes, I meant K5 and K6. My bad. :shy: Let's see the K5 and K6 white and blue for a better comparison... :)

The shades of blue are different and there is an upside down swoosh to the fairings of the K6. Other than these two, the bikes are basically the same... :p

all brembo pumps the same btw the lever and the piston body.

the adjustment on top is the let the rider adjust the lever..

18 does require less effort than 20 to make the same stop.

if its juz to give a different feel, an not breaking reaction...

why the big price difference btw

19x20

19x18

19x16

Hey Gnayed, excellent illustrations. :thumb:

That explains why the 19x20 feels tight. One finger braking is a snap on the pump. I used to rotate the span adjuster all the way out for the stock pump just to get the hard brake feel that I like.

any diff using the TRE? or it's just the mindset thingy?

correct me if i'm wrong... hehe..

i was told getting a pc is more practical..

by the way, anyone using brembo master pump here?

heard the stock pump will start to fade after 4 laps..

TRE is for elimination of the retard of the power generated by the first 3 gears whereas the pc is for tuning purposes... correct me if i'm wrong...

ohh..nxt time can go in together since stay so near :thumb:
