Guys. Im gonna grab a class 2 bike soon in two months time. I'm tied between suzuki, honda and yamaha. I understand each machine is different in terms of handling and etc. So yeah i guess im in the right place to ask you guys how do you rate suzuki gsx in terms of handling, speed, parts, accessories and market value. Im doing research on all the three models to ensure i do make the right choice. Hope you guys can share with me what to look out for and stuff.

1) Comfortable for normal road usage?

2) Parts/accessories

3) market value

4) handling

5) servicing

6) the pros and cons of different year model.

7) 600,750,1000. which is which? I've never rode a 400 before. straight to class 2. need to get use to the power.

thanks guys ;)))

for street use? for track use? or both street and track? M5 is very gd for street and can track, but the tire is very new and hence very expensive. M3 is the older version, cheaper. M1 lagi old. power pure is track tire, k2 also. Track tire usually they have minimum groove to prevent aquaplaning, that's why raining u c all the racer hiding.

1) Comfortable for normal road usage?

all of them also not comfortable for road usage. the nature of the posture is a sports racing one. sorry if this is the answer u're not looking for.

2) Parts/accessories

suzuki accessories are easier to find and cheaper. yamaha slightly more ex, honda even more.

3) market value

when honda came out with their 08 model, their value has always been the highest. it's also not easy to find 2nd hand honda 08 onwards. yamaha resale also higher than suzuki. suzuki value amongst all three is lowest, that is also due to its 2 yearly model change.

4) handling

honda handling at current the best, due to the nature of the bike, small wheelbase, etc. yamaha and suzuki depends on rider preference. some prefer the posture of the r1, some the gixxer. so it varies.

5) servicing

again suzuki's parts are easy to find and cheaper. u try search ebay, u compare what u can find between all three manufacturers, and u'll be surprised how much things u can find for suzuki, compared to yamaha and honda. so repairing wise, suzuki would be cheapest compared to yamaha and honda. that said, it also depends on what u're repairing, if u repair suzuki engine, of cos it's gonna be more ex than repairing a yamaha throttle body. in terms of normal servicing, all are fairly the same, engine oil, oil filter, plugs, etc. tho, i've heard r1'09 uses a much more expensive plugs.

6) the pros and cons of different year model.

as technology improves, so does bikes. all manufacturers are pushing their technology higher and higher. bikes are getting lighter and lighter, more horsepower, better handling, etc. all i can say is, older bikes are more rigid and durable thus heavier, newer bikes are getting lighter, thus material wise might not be as sturdy as the older ones. so as performance and handling increases, so does the materials used, thus the compromise.

7) 600,750,1000. which is which? I've never rode a 400 before. straight to class 2. need to get use to the power.

u will struggle with any. but take ur time, as time goes by which ever u choose u will get used to it. 600 more nimble, easier to manouver around. 1000 slight heavy if u dun use ur powerband.

the kind of horsepower they are comparing, if u dun pull ur throttle all the way also u wont feel what horses they're comparing. when they say mv agusta has 190bhp, bmw has more, etc etc... if u dun pull and maximise ur bike the whole nine yards...u won't even know what horses u have. some ppl are okay with secondhand bikes, some prefer first hand ones. my opinion is, just go with what ur budget allows, and secondly what u want. cheers.
