Could it be possible that the temperature actually be above 90? faulty temp sensor? I was caught in the rain too just now but didn't notice any steam, temp was around 87~90.

Of cos.. Header so hot, Kena water sure become steam ma.. Normal lah.. When u stationary then will see the steam lah.. When u riding still see steam, got prob Liao leh...

I hv e exact same problem w my bike few months ago, SD or 5D displayed on my screen, temp light lights on and cant start.. And when i push start it able to start later dies off again.. When to bike shop its battery, rectifier n coil which cost me $650 total.. Im riding k8 750 too.. I thinks tis model have alot of coil n rectifier problem.. Haix..

More electronics means more load on battery, rectifier and coil? I actually dekitted the HID to keep load down. If add-on electronics are wired directly to batt and not through relay, also drains batt easily. My X-TRE was wired direct and drains batt easily.

Just to add, perhaps keeping EO change in check also helps prolong the coil's life. Correct me if i'm wrong.

I'm riding a K9 600 and FC from full to reserve is about 220~230(km) bro. Bike's fitted with aftermarket endcan and BMC race filter. Rest is pretty much stock. 60% city 40% highway riding. Runs on 98 / 97 RON.

 

If one is throttle happy, then it'll be a different story... hehe
